This is too crazy to be true, right? http://wonkette.com/403920/jesus-people-pray-that-false-idol-will-save-gods-economy
I used to think that way, but I am now finding the extreme lunatic ignorants of religions comical. It's like a monty python sketch it's so absurd. I weep for the sincerity of their stupidity - but I laugh as I watch it unfold.
This is blatantly false and misleading. I read the communique from the organizers of this prayer event, and they actually believe the statue of the bull *does* represent an idol (called it a "Trojan Horse amongst us"), and they are most certainly not praying to it. They're praying to God asking Him to heal the economy and deliver it from the influence of wicked people. This is bigotry and intolerance at its finest. What now, Christians cannot pray for our collapsing economy without being ridiculed and vilified?
I would find it comical too. Except that these people, are the same people that vote in the power hungry right. who in return, travel from country to country with this mind set and are ready to defend terrorism as long as their investments are kept safe.
Why would he not? I believe God cares about our wellbeing. And he certainly does care when poor people suffer because they are the victims of manipulation and greed from the rich and powerful. And I *know* the bible expressly says that if God's people seek Him and pray that He will heal their land. These people are just performing their true duties as Christians and we have all these prejudiced bigots mocking them. Welcome to China 50 years ago ... wait, are we still in America?
Ummm. It's still effin' hilarious to see a group of so-called christians praying at a bull statue. Come on... Hypocrisy overload. I'd find it far more christian of them if they simply prayed for the poor and struggling families, instead of a construct of human society (greed).
Don't give me that contrived nonsense. You *ARE* being intolerant. Like I said in the post above, the bible expressly instructs Christians to pray to God when their land is suffering from famine and pestilence, and that if they do, He will heal their land. It's there in 2 Chronicles 7. They're doing what the bible says. And what is wrong with praying for the healing of the economy? What now, they should pray for the destruction of society as we know it? I know many of you are all caught up in your anti-religious ideological fad, but at some point you have to start realizing when you're just being ridiculous.
Well those are not precise terms, but you get the general idea. Famine is just a pre-industrial term for "recession".
