We could have had Deandre Jordan instead of Joey Dorsey. There are no Deandre Jordans in this draft. All the decent center projects will be gone before our late lottery pick. Aaric Murray is a backup center project. He does have some shotblocking ability which would make me take a second look but his overall defense seems lacking. He will not amount too anything special. IMO.

    Possible center prospect:

    Lucas Nogueira

    7'0(still growing), only 18yrs old(will be 19 in july)..

Comparisons: a more offesively gifted Tyson Chandler..

Picture of him and Dwight Howard: (warning the picture is very large)

There is NO way Morey will draft an 18-year-old -- way too much risk. There is only a glimmer of a chance he could draft Valanciunas but only because he has some professional (European) experience.

I believe Val is our last best hope for a center in the draft. Kanter has such bad knees he is Greg Oden Part II.

BTW, there was a SF who was hyped as the future #1 pick with Perry right behind? Suddenly, he is off the radar and I can't remember his name. Why did he disappear? Anybody?

People say that every year. And then a DeAndre Jordan or a Hassan Whiteside drops from Mock Draft Lottery Pick all the way to Actual Second Rounder. (Also, I don't particularly think Jordan is that good; and the jury's still out on Whiteside.)

Harrison Barnes. He's having a subpar freshman season so far at North Carolina, but most Mock Drafts still have him in the top-3.

6 blocked shots tonight for Jordan along with 20 rebounds.....Kaman needs to look up Wally Pipp.

And we took Dorsey, come on...that is a horrible move....

The team at that point used to talk about not worrying about size and worrying more about production.

    Lesson learned...I hope !

I hope Morey felt that game. Deandre Jordan is absolutely for real, and 100% what we need.

Imagine If we had Patrick and Deandre to look forward to right now.

I think Kaman is a goner, Would you give him a look?

Meh, Never healthy, bad contract, meh.

Still, he is available for cheap I would bet.

From all the current Lottery projected prospects on various draft boards, I think Morey will target Kemba Walker,(he seem's like a Morey type of player) his a young junior(only 20yrs old) who's looking to graduate this year and is having an extremely productive season.

Plus with the big possibility of either losing Aaron Brooks at the trade deadline or free agency, Kemba would serve as a good replacement. He has potential to be a rich-man's Aaron Brooks or better. Given that he has the ability to actually defend and create shot's for others, while still having the ability to score.

We also have a high second round pick(from the rights to swap with the Clipps),and the guy I like to target with that pick would be Jeremy Tyler(6'11 PF/C)...

Jeremy was one the top prospects out his High School Class(2010) and has gone through a tough stretch since opting to play overseas after his junior year. Going over seas did not go as he plan when he did not receiving the playing time he thought he would, causing attitude problems, and has since bounce around in International basketball. The kid has some maturing to do, but the potential is till there, he can post up and take it out and knock down the mid range jumper. Another impressive skill also his ability to maneuve around players off the dribble to attack the rim. He also posses terrific size standing at 6'11 with a 7'4 wingspan and 9'2 standing reach, and his still only 19 yrs old(will be 20 come draft day). Perfect project big at the center position...

Perhaps he tumbles in the draft because he won't be able to play for a whole year?

According to Wiki, he was seldomly used b/c he was a reserve and only 16 at the time

    However, he did do this:

    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Enes-Kanter-5168/

At 6 foot 11, 272 lbs, the dude has legit size.
Oh, and did I mention his 7 foot 1 wingspan???

Loved this quote about him from draftexpress:

What? Work ethic, discipline, tangible skills, INTANGIBLE skills, size, good FT percentage, knack for grabbing boards, soft shooting touch, etc.

Sounds like a combo of Yao and Battier, lol

But seriously, what do you guys think?

Sorry for the double post, but this vid demonstrates his skills much better than the previous one.

Its from the 2010 Nike Hoops Summit in Portland where Kanter went off for 34 pts (surpassing Dirk's record for 33) and 13 boards.
Here is a link to the complete box score: http://www.usabasketball.com/men/2010/10_hsum_box.pdf

Cliff notes: dude shoots 13-21, 8-9 from the stripe, grabs 8 Offensive boards while only picking up 1 foul and only 3 TOs

Skip to 3:07 to watch him on the fast break!

Kanter would be freaking beautiful. Is he coming to the NBA next year?

We would have to get a top 3-5 pick probably.

No definite word yet on if he is coming or not. You don't think his stock will drop with him being away from a basketball court of ANY kind for a year? Maybe i'm just being too hopeful, lol
