Perhaps this Boki and JJ trade is actually a vote of confidence for Reece Gaines? Maybe just maybe they think he can develop and wanted to clear some playing time for him. well he should get plenty of mins tonight with Wesley not playing till tomorrow at the earliest. Hopefully he does something with the opportunity.
That, or when left with the option of Boki or Gaines the New Orleans Hornets chose Boki. I hoped Boki would be a star. But let's look at it this way: Boki got minutes here, and Gaines goes on the IL for toxic shock or some other obviously bogus reason. I haven't seen enough of Gaines to opine either way, but he didn't play much at all in Orlando (where he wasn't liked by coaches and management), and hasn't played here. So why would New Orleans take him over Boki?
