After really thinking about the 2001/2002 Rockets, we will be either VERY good or VERY bad. I know to most of you this is an obvious statement, but slow people, such as myself needs a little more time to process the wealth of information that flows through this area. What if we are like the Bulls last year (or the year before...I don't remember exactly), in which we lose all of our FA and then can't sign any decent FA's? Then what??????

What I wouldn't give for the '94-'97 Rockets. I don't think there has been a more special team than that since the '80s Lakers. Forgive the babbling, but I already miss watching the Rockets play. I can't believe I have to wait until October.....Uhggg! And all this speculation (will we get Webber, will we get the #18 pick, will Dream be a Rocket next year, etc, etc, etc.) is not help at all! Somebody tell me everything is going to be okay.... [IMG]

The Rockets organization is very different than the Bulls. I don't see us ending up like them. I'm sure the Rockets will suprise us yet again, by signing, or trading players. Picking someone in the Draft that we never heard of, and they turn out to be a great player. Don't worry, everything will turn out fine!

    I HOPE [IMG]

The difference is that the Bulls already sucked, whereas the Rockets won 45 games this year, so they aren't as dependent on signing superstar free agents to become a good team.

Your statement is very true, however, keep in mind that Dream helped us win about 15-20 games this year and MO Taylor helped as well. There is a strong possibility that we will lose both, not to mention Shandon, do you really thing CAT, Stevie can win us 45+ games next year all by themselves?

I have another question (to all), I have been a pro basketball fan for about 10 years now, but I have not (or cannot) watch a college game. So in other words, I know squat about college ball. How does this new zone going to effect the Rockets game? And will I lose all interest in the pro game because of it?

If no one has guessed by now, I am really worried about losing my #2 past-time. [IMG]

    I hear ya, FranchiseCat.

There's a good chance that the Rocks could be in the lottery again next year. Contrary to some opinions, the West won't be much different than it was this past year, it will be as tough as ever.

In fact, don't be surprised if the Clipps (yes, I know, we've heard this before) make a strong push for the playoffs next year.

The Wolves, despite not having a 1st rounder, could actually be better, will have more experience, and there is talk of a Fizer\Artest for Sczerbiak\Avery deal that will make the Wolves bigger.

The Jazz will be the Jazz. [IMG]

The Kings won't fall off much, especially if they get quality players back in a S&T should Webber leave. If I'm not mistaken, when CWebb was out, they played decent ball.

Knowing Portland, they'll make a big trade, make a substantial change in personnel, and still be better than ever.

Lakers, Mavs, Spurs, Phoenix,...they'll be in contention all year long.

Hell, the Nuggets may finally put it all together next year, as well as a revitalized, "wanting to create a fresh start, putting the past behind us" Grizzlie team (no, they won't make the playoffs, but could be next year's version of the Clippers, giving everybody complete headaches).

If they miss the playoffs next year, then the team should be blown up and rebuilt. I see the Kings falling out completely, so there will be a spot. It is theirs for the taking, but I really expect more than just the number 7 or 8.

I totally agree with you about the Clips. They have a great nucleous and could (should) be a playoff team next year.
    I think about two things:
    1) We could play it safe and re-sign Dream & Mo and posssibly be a playoff team but not be a good team and honestly knowing Dream has on a year or two left.
    2) Take our chances with trying to get C-Webb. We lose Mo & Dream but with C-webb we would have a better nucleaous and could have a championship caliber (but not as good as the Lakers) team by the 2nd year. However if we lose C-webb we are in big trouble.

My take is to take our chances. Try to get C-webb. Mo is not the answer at PF, too many good PF in the West and Mo is not at their level. Don't screw up the cap by paying Dream 10 mil. Let him play for 4-5 mil if we have the cap room, but don't go out of our way to pay top dollar for a guy with 1-2 years left.
