This has to be the toughest three game stretch for any team to have all season. In a span of 4 nights the Rockets will do battle with the top three contenders in the league. A 3-punch knockout that floors the best in the league, is it possible? Could one think of a better opportunity to silence the critics than to start a three game winning streak starting with the reigning champs and finishing with the team many consider to come out of the east and sandwiched in between a victory over last years eastern champs who have the best record in the league? Three game winning streaks are nothing to get excited about, but a three game winning streak for the Rockets starting with the game tonight, would be most impressive. the best damn three game winning streak perhaps in the teams history.

    We shall see...

Easy, just have Yao avg 30 a game and T-Mac about 40/game and we will sweep the competition.

The Rockets seem to do well in these situations, so Im not worried. You know they'll play their butts off in these games. It ought to be a great week for us fans. SA, DET, IND, DAL.. These are going to be great games!

i'll take 2 out of 3. the spurs will be tough, but winnable. pacers should be a win after looking at them lose by 20 to the bobcats. pistons, extremely tough, by far the best team in the leauge so far.

It is an NBA maxim that you can't just turn it on and off at will. If this is true, we are going to get creamed three games in a row. Our problems scoring are only going to magnify against good defenses.

I will take win over Pistons over the other 2. Pistons shall not reach the 15-0 start to join the 93-94 Rockets, and it will be Rockets to make sure of that!

It would have been better to say they turn it off when their best player is out and turn it on when he plays.
    With Mcgrady, we're 3-1.
With Mcgrady, we're scoring 93 pts a game.
With or without Mcgrady, we have the 2nd best defense in the league.
The 93pts a game won't scare a lot of teams but it's the same amount of points the most overrated coach in the game over in L.A. has his team scoring.

Assume offensively TMac and Kobe are a wash.

Therefore, the difference in offensive talent between the rest of the Rockets (including Yao Ming) and the rest of the Lakers is overcome by the difference in offensive coaching talent between "Mr." Van Gundy and Mr. "Tied for most rings, ever."

Yeah. I guess you are right. Big Chief Triangle or No Big Chief Triangle, I can see how the loss of two offensive machines like Brian Grant and Jumaine Jones can have an offense scoring 5pts a game less than it did last season.

You guys are thinking last year's team is playing; that team doesn't exist anymore. This team looks nothing like that gritty, in your face, we will out hustle you, never say die, ready to make the clutch shot, shut you down bunch that we loved so much. That is all history.

If the NEW team plays like it has been playing this stretch will be brutal. If they suddenly gel, maybe not so brutal. In my view the team has looked horrible thus far, as offensively inept as any NBA team in recent memory. The Rockets have been beaten by the Hornets, the Magic, the Celtics, etc. What do you think it is going happen against the best teams in the league? I have watched several other teams recently, and right now, the Rockets are not as good OFFENSIVELY as any of them including the Clippers, the Lakers, the Jazz, the Bucks, the Wizards, even the Knicks! If they are good (and I certainly hope they will become so) they have to prove it ON THE COURT. Thus far, they continue to look fantastic on paper, and awful on the floor. I am the biggest Rocket fan around, but the truth is the truth, right now, they suck.

Nevertheless, I'm going to watch and cheer for them, and hope for the best. Just an improved shooting performance would make me happy. Not being blown out and utterly humiliated will make me happy. Almost anything positive will make me happy at this point.

Let's see, a 12 point first quarter and, no, it is not a "little dribblers" game: it is the NBA! The Rocket's poor shooting cannot, must not continue. Somebody has got to make a shot. And they are getting wide open looks!

Things do not look good in Rocket land.

Pistons and Pacers look to blow Rockets out by 20.

Game plan - double Yao or Tmac with ball, agressively. Bait them to force. Screw the others, they are useless zeros. Let them brick.

Seems to work for the bobcats, celtics, et al. Why not the best teams too? The margin of victory should only be greater.
