I believe the rockets should take advantage of Jerry Kause's eagerness to get back in the playoffs. We should do the following trade and throw in 2 future first rounders. Houston trades: SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes) PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes) Houston receives: PG Jay Williams (9.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 4.7 apg in 26.1 minutes) PF Marcus Fizer (11.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg in 21.3 minutes) C Tyson Chandler (9.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 24.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: -0.0 ppg, +3.0 rpg, and +0.6 apg. Chicago trades: PG Jay Williams (9.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 4.7 apg in 26.1 minutes) PF Marcus Fizer (11.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg in 21.3 minutes) C Tyson Chandler (9.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 24.4 minutes) Chicago receives: SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 73 games) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 77 games) PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games) Change in team outlook: 0.0 ppg, -3.0 rpg, and -0.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Houston and Chicago being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Chicago had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bulls will have a lineup of: Curry/Blount Marshall/Griffin Rose/Pippen/Robinson Mobley/Hinrich Pippen/Norris And two future 1st in the next four seasons: They would be Eastern Champs with that roster Our Roster: Ming/Cato/Meech Taylor/Chandler/Cato Chandler/A. Griffin/Nachbar JJ/Pike/SF SF/Wilks/J. Will Would you do it???????
Don't you know that J. Williams can barely walk without aid now? He crashed a motorcycle and ruined his career!
NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jerry Krause no longer Bulls G.M. Replaced by former player Paxson. P.S. You lost the Bulls ear the moment you mentioned Chandler.
How about Mobley and MoT for Crawford, Fizer, and Eddie Robinson? Both Pippen and Rose can play the PG position, with Roger Mason Jr. and Kirk Hinrich also in the fold. I would go as far as take on Donyell Marshall for part of the exception. If I'm not mistaken, the salaries are something like: MoT (8.5) Mobley (5) Crawford (3) Fizer (3) Eddie Robinson (6) Marshall (5) They'd be sending around 18M our way, while we'd be sending 13.5 plus around 4.5M of the exception. We take on 2 running contracts, but we give 2 away as well, so we're cool on that front. Here's what we look like: Yao/Cato/Meech Fizer/Griffin/Marshall Marshall/Robinson/Boki Crawford/JJ/Pike Francis/Moochie This makes our 2 guard positions interchangeable, while acquiring a high % scorer in Marshall. I hate to take on Robinson, but we have to take some crap on to get Crawford. I think through this deal, we have 3 positions on the court set, and a superb bench as well. If Fizer/Griffin/Marshall/Cato can handle the 4 position throughout the season, then 6th seed is a very good possibility.
Why would they trade a talented and tall PG like Crawford after Jay Williams wrapped his pelvis around a tree trunk and may never play again?
I forgot to add Heinrich is unproven and Pippen is old. Crawford, Rose, Chandler, and Curry. That will be a scary lineup if Curry and Crawford play the whole season like the way they played during the last weeks of the previous one.
Speaking of the Bulls, here's an interesting player we could sign IF we decided to trade Mobley: CHICAGO (AP)--The Chicago Bulls waived guard Trenton Hassell on Thursday, cutting their roster to 15.
Hinrich unproven, Pippen old, Rose...what, selfish? Well Shaq has FT problems. The Knicks have intensified their search to add a scorer after the Chicago Bulls rejected a deal earlier in the week that would have brought Jamal Crawford to New York, according to an Eastern Conference official. Chicago is trying to move small forward Donyell Marshall, who would give the Knicks size and scoring. Crawford can play either guard position, but his erratic play has frustrated the Bulls. The team would consider trading the 23-year-old Crawford but not for Harrington. I'm pretty sure that SOME combination of Pippen, Rose, Hinrich, and Roger Mason JR. can handle the PG position. They brought Pippen in to run the point, and Rose is VERY capable of playing the PG position, like he did earlier with the Bulls and Pacers. Hinrich is the backup, and that's exactly what they brought him there to be. Roger Mason Jr. is just insurance.
Off limit -unless you put Yao or Francis into your proposal: Eddy Curry Tyson Chandler Jamal Crawford On the market, which is relatively valuable : Marcus Fizer, Donny Marshall A rather logical move : Mobley + Griffin + 2 1st#pick for Fizer/Marshall + Hinrich + capfiller + 1st#pick
We can't trade any more 1st rounders at the present time because of the Utah trade. I don't want Donyell unless we only have to give up Griff + a little. I don't believe the bulls were in serious talks with NY to deal Crawford, despite what that article may state. Probly just Layden making his usual round of lowball offers.
Chandler and Curry are untouchables and Fizer had a breakout season last year.......They're not gonna come cheap......
I don't think Bulls are even listening to offers that involve Crawford, they love the guy. Here's my trade offer: Houston Trades: Mobley Cato Houston Recieves: Crawford Fizer Dallas Trades: Finley Best Dallas Recieves: Mobley Cato Chicago Trades: Crawford Fizer Chicago Recieves: Finley Best I thought it was pretty decent.
Crawford would fit in nice. The big PG that would allow us to move Francis to the 2. If we can get him for Mobley, it's a no-brainer, but I don't see it happening. A year ago, when Jay Williams was supposed to be the next big thing and Yao a bust, we could've had him easily...
That's what alot of these trade threads are, us giving up nothing and the other team giving us their cream of the crop.
