Houston trades: Jimmy Jackson ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (15.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.2 apg in 39.5 minutes) PG Steve Francis (16.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.9 apg in 39.8 minutes) Houston receives: PG Gilbert Arenas (18.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.9 apg in 36.5 minutes) SF Jerry Stackhouse (18.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 5.5 apg in 35.8 minutes) PG Juan Dixon (9.0 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.9 apg in 18.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: +13.8 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and +3.2 apg. Washington trades: PG Gilbert Arenas (18.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.9 apg in 36.5 minutes) SF Jerry Stackhouse (18.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 5.5 apg in 35.8 minutes) PG Juan Dixon (9.0 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.9 apg in 18.4 minutes) Washington receives: Jimmy Jackson ( ppg, rpg, apg in games) SG Cuttino Mobley (15.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.2 apg in 50 games) PG Steve Francis (16.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.9 apg in 49 games) Change in team outlook: -13.8 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and -3.2 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED There were BYC players involved in this trade, so this trade is subject to the BYC provisions of the CBA. Due to Houston and Washington being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Washington had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. First of all Washington is not really getting the shaft. Jim Jacksons stats are not inputed in the trade. The numbers come out to be a wash. Ok I think SF and Cat are like joined at the hip, they have to be packaged together. Washington would get a high flying backcourt and a good player in Jim Jackson. Rockets get a Dixon who might be that pass first guard we have been looking for. Arenas is a just a flat out better distributer and scorer than Mobley. Stackhouse gives us that 3rd legitamite star player. Dixon/Jackson Arenas/Pike Jerry/Nachbar Cato/Taylor Yao/Weatherspoon
Okay. I'll trade " those who want SF gone" for more fans who choose to at least wait until after the season.
LMFAO, that is one of the worst trades ever. We ought to just ban people who use Real GM because I can't take this crap anymore.
I shouldn't have clicked on this thread. Awful. BTW, Dixon was a shooting guard in Maryland, sound familiar? and his 8 points and 1.7 apg tend to indicate that that is what he is here too. What makes you think he is a "pass first" point guard? Because his name isn't steve francis? Awful.
you must be a Wizards fan ... now, if you made it Steve for Arenas, Brown and the Wizard's 2004 first round pick, it might be more interesting ... but, geez the trade you suggest is awful. Stackhouse is not a star or near star. Steve IS an All-Star, regardless of our criticisms, or conflicts with the coach.
Why would you want Gilbert Arenas? People complain about Steve's faults as a point guard, and then turn around and want to trade for GILBERT ARENAS? The guy shoots worse than Steve, and averages more turnovers than him -- 4.9:4.0 AST/TO ratio. Juan Dixon is a scrub, he would get eaten alive in the west. I don't know where you got the idea that he can play point guard, you even went so far to put him in your little depth chart. It's always a good idea to trade away 3 of our starters for 2 starters on a terrible east coast team [whom both played a COMBINED 26 games this season], and a bench scrub. What a terrible post.
this thread is pointless.. just go here http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72569
This is a terrible trade for both teams. Washington doesn't want to trade a young Arenas. Trading away 3 starters including JJ and mobley would be too much of an adjustment for this seasons. Arenas's style wouldn't really fit this Rocket team anyways. Here what I would do Rockets trade: SF + Cato + Pike + AG Washington trades: Hughes + Stack + Steve Blake + Etan + Draft picks Huges, Stack and Etan would start for Houston and get JVG a lot of athletism and allow mobley to come off the bench. Stack is a huge upgrade over JJ at 3 and has the size to defend against bigger SF. Steve Blake would be groomed for the starting pg of the future. He's 6'3, great court vision. Houston staring lineup in the future would be like this: Yao/Etan Etan/MoT/Padgett Stack/Boki/JJ JJ/Mobes/Hughes Huges/SB/Wilks
wow, how stupid can this idea be??? Oh, i remember that time when somebody spent half a million to study why inmates want to escape from prisons.
