When we got Mo Taylor, I think the Rockets knew he was weak in the rebounding department. Why is everyone acting like this is something new or unexpected. The fact is that he shoots mid range jumpers a lot and is away from the basket. Yes he should make up for that on the defensive rebounding. It's a weakness, but not one that should take anyone by or surprise. The Rockets hoped that he might learn to rebound more, but I don't think anyone bet on it. He has helped our team a lot though, and I would love to have him back on the team next year. ------------------

Not sure how to respond to Purvis's comments. If we are saying we are not interested in Webber it is because he already made the decision he would not be considering signing with us as a FA. There are many possible reasons Webber might not have wanted to consider us via FA, the most likely is he makes more $ staying with Sac or going S & T. Other possible ones include him wanting to get the he@@ out of the West, not leaving the Kings high and dry (I really don't believe this one becuase it is completely against him wanting a better chance at a ring--underneath this is really the "$" reason), liking his chances with the Kings with Bibby, etc. Even if Webber himself offers one of these reasons, unless he says 1) it is for money (he won't say this), possibly: 2) he liked his chances elsewhere, I will not put much faith in his comments. Webber's decision (to not consider us) may have been clear to us a while ago. The rest of statements from our front office like "now we signed Eddie, we don't need Webber", "we never wanted Webber, we want to pair our Mo with Eddie", "we never seriously considered Webber, but at of courtesy we explore all FA posiibilities", etc. Any statement like this is pure spin. The only other sort of believable reason we might not be for signing Webber via FA is PR (public reaction to letting Hakeem go, e.g., with the near Toronto trade).
