There has been much talk of firing adelman, or even him stepping down, but who would you have in mind to replace him? There is no doubt that RA is a Top 10 or possibly Top 5 coach in the league, and those are hard to come by. So if he were fired, what coach, that is available or could become available, would you want to replace him?
RA has had his moments this season where I have ZERO idea what his thinking but overall not the problem. If we did go another direction... Spoiler
The only talk I hear about firing RA is on this board. Haven't heard anything from anywhere else. But just because I didn't hear it doesn't mean its not out there. But highly unlikely.
Adelman is a great coach on a contending team. I don't think he is the right choice for a rebuilding one. He cares too much about his W/L record instead of developing a young core. We need to see which way we are going in terms on rebuilding or retooling. if we can nab some super stars, then lets keep him. If it looks more and more like we are starting over, then i think it is time to part ways. with that said, I have no clue who it would be to replace him. someone that works well with young guys and has some focus on defense would be a great start.
That was a poor choice of words.. there has been much talk of firing him on clutchfans so i was wondering who clutchfans had in mind to replace him
The only coaches available that come close are Larry Brown, followed by JVG. RA overall is better than JVG, Brown may take a few years off (and he has his critics too). But before we get impulsive, this article from NBA.com ranks active NBA coaches: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2010/10/12/1746757/nba-coach-power-rankings-phil-jackson-gregg-popovich
I've read up on Larry Brown and it seems that he would be what we need... a good defensive coach, his struggles on offense would probably not make a difference because this team's problem is not scoring. What about JVG? Do you think he would come back if we asked?
why even overpay for Luis and Martin? Why are Houston fans afraid to suck for 3-4 years to build a system? Same with the Astros, they grab overpaid talent to be mediocre! commit to sucking please!
When was the last time Adelman had a complete roster to work with? You guys are mad a coach because he gets to coach a bunch of crap players that were designed to be a support cast to Yao...
I love Adelman and would only get new coach if he wanted to step down, firing him would be stupid but this guy needs to be next in line when the time comes:
I wish the Texans would have sucked that last game against Jacksonville. Instead they played arguably their best game of the year in a meaningless game, and dropped from the 5th pick to the 11th pick. There are 2 shutdown corners that could we could have picked up at 5 but gone at 11. That last game had no baring on Kubiak's job. He was coming back no matter what. Start Leinert to see what he can do. Start James Casey. But $%!* no. Sorry for the rant. And I know...I know... wrong forum
Just a thought: is Mike Brown still around? His team did win over 60 games in two seasons, yet he got fired for not knowing how to win.
Might as well talk about it now because i think he's ready to go elsewhere. If we're rebuilding i'd like to give Elie a shot as well, no pun int--ok, maybe it was
Larry brown is good at teaching and developing young guys..and he's defense first...pass on mario ellie i'll let some other team be his first test job...
