Real Madrid and Arsenal both out of the Champions League!
    Unbelievable.
either one looked like a sure thing for the CL finals.
as they say the bigger they are the harder they fall.
It looks like it's AC Milan's to lose. Hopefully they'll get knocked out next.

Now would be a perfect time for an "NFL vs. European Soccer" poll...

If we take the whole planet and the rest of the 4 billion or so who don't care about US sports, then Soccer,Futbol or boring as the average US sports fan calls it beats the NFL's ass like a persian rug!

But here in the good ol' USA nobody cares about soccer.

If soccer is so good how can a 14 year old kid make money at it?

That thread title has Baqui written all over it.

Not to derail your thread dude, but Faos makes a great point. Could you imagine if Allen Iverson, Michael Vick, Steve Francis, or any of America's great athletes played soccer. We'd dominate. Imagine Marshall Faulk or Clinton Portis, or Ricky Williams, or etc. etc.

How is it anyone, regardless of age race or belief, can make a quarter of a billion dollars for spitting and scratching their nuts for six months of the year.
I'm not even going to talk about the morons who go through college not learning to read or write as long as they can throw a football or shoot a basketball.

Simple. He's playing in the USA. :p

Real Madrid's defence was always a disaster waiting to happen. Monaco beating them over two legs doesn't surprise me (although overcoming the first leg score was very impressive).

Arsenal just had a bad second half against a decent Chelsea side, and Lehmann basically gave them two goals over the course of the tie.

Why? What's to say that a player like Thierry Henry wouldn't be an amazing basketball player? Or any of several Rugby Union and League players in American Football?

The BIGGEST sporting event on the planet is the World Cup.
other than war and marriage, it practicaly slows the planet to a crawl.

That is what I was thinking - that can't be right because it is constantly adding about 3 people every second. Is no one dying in today's world?

Look there are non-american posters in here so this thread stays! ;)

TWO GREAT matches today with two great resulsts. Champions League rules and actually both Chelsea and Monaco showed a game that can bring the title home, but yes Milan are the clear favorites.

I LOVE SOCCER ( that doesn't mean I can't love basketball too you know)

Glad to see Arsenal knocked out. I really can't see AC Milan losing it, looks like two in a row for them.

Well, since La Coruna just beat Milan 4-0, they might hope to put together a strong challenge too.
