I want to get an MCAT review book so I can take it sometime so I can go to medical school later. There's none at the local bookstores, so I was looking on amazon.com. What I'm thinking about getting is "Kaplan MCAT Comprehensive Review with CD-ROM, 2005 Edition." And it costs $44.20 on there. Which is not bad. But then it says "39 Used or New from $X", I click, and in some instances X<44 and the condition says "new". Who are these vendors, and are they legit? Have you guys ever bought from these people? Anyway, I rarely buy anything online (old fashioned that way I guess) but I've always wanted to know. And also, do you guys know any websites were you can get books for less than that? Thanks.
Look at their feedbacks, I bought the Yao Ming book from one of these company on Amazon, the shipping was slow, but the book is brand new.
I've purchased a lot of stuff from Amazon. They are very reliable, IMO. The "Buy Used" guys are usually small shops that goes through Amazon to get more buyers. I've purchased a few tech books through these types of small shops. The "Like New" ones were practically new, but I think they are really shop dependent. The shipping takes longer than the normal Amazon shipping, but if you don't need it right away, it doen't really matter. If you decide to go this route, go with the shop that has good ratings and have made many transactions. OverStock.com has it for $37.79 New. This might be your best bet. Although, I've never purchased from them, I think they should be ok too.
