Every year, my mother grades the A.P. US History exam, and every year students write some really hilarious stuff, which she collects. All this talk of 'Founding Fathers' reminded me of these, and so I decided to post a few. These are all genuine responses by our 'best and brightest'. Everybody I know has laughed uncontrolably. I hope a certian segment find these as funny as I do.

Students had to write an essay in response to the question:

To what extent did the United States achieve the objectives that led it to enter the First World War?

Discuss with respect to TWO of the following, the view that the 1960's represented a period of profound cultural change:

Education, Gender Roles, Music, and Race Relations

God help the youth of America

    LOL :D

I know students are rushed for time but some of this stuff is unbelievable.

I wouldn't categorize these students as America's "best and brightest." The AP program just is not the same anymore. For example, when I was in high school (only 2 years ago), you had to take a test to get into AP classes. Now my former high school allows anyone and I mean anyone to get into AP classes. All you have to do is sign a waiver saying that you will be responsible for classwork and grades (some BS so students can't drop).

Also keep in mind these students paid something like $75 for this test. Oh my goodness ;)

The U.S. didn't achieve many objectives... they just felt like fighting. The peer pressure was too much.

    LMAO!!

Entering the war was a failure to remain neutral

Well you can't say this person was wrong.
