First time since 1958 the Yankees have been no hit, and the first time in MLB history that 6 pitchers combined on it.

    WOW !!

Come on now, this is some AMAZING stuff.

Oswalt, Saarlos, Munro, Lidge, Dotel, Wagner.

    Wow !!

The Yankees are a bunch of assholes. IF they have any ****ing semblance of ****ing dignity they won't let the Astros win this series.

I had to throw $250 worth of merchandise out of my window just to unleash rage that I surely would have used on beating some poor kid senseless and gone to ****ing jail for it.

Eh, This DOES deserve it's own thread.

How fitting that our bullpen pulls this off as a team.

Stros struck out 8 of the last 9. Lidge/Dotel/Wagner is about as tough as it gets.

And the NY crowd was cheering for the STros at the end.

Dotel gets 4 strikeouts in his 1 inning.....

And it is not time for Lidge to start, that guy has amazing stuff, and he is wasted in the bullpen.

I missed most of the game. I hope they make it an instant classic.

At this point in the year, I think you've got to keep Lidge in the bullpen. We're as close to unbeatable as you can get after the 6th inning. Don't mess with success this year.

I don't really give a **** what team it was, besides the Red Sox and Mets, then we'd have a real problem, I'd probably be breaking everything remotely breakable inside of my house righ tnow.

The ****ing assholes shouldn't be getting no hit by guys named Munro and Saarloos, no offense, but these guys should ****ing know how to hit guys that have 5+ ERAs, or even just get ****ing lucky against them. Jeff Weaver losing the game isnt ****ing surprising either, he sucks the damn life out of that team whenever they see his sorry ass on the mound, sulking, and b****ing to the media that Contreras took his spot in the rotation since Contreras can actually pitch and he just makes up excuses.

bring up the AAA squad...give henson a try

i agree. now we just need starting pitching so we dont wear out our excellent bullpen. and with good starting pitching and arguable one of the best bullpens in the league and the explosive offense we have, we have what it takes to win it all.

I agree that Lidge should move to the starting rotation, especially with Oswalt likly going on the DL. The guy has some amazing stuff and if he can stay healthy can become a great SP.

Did anyone check out the interview on Fox Sports with the each of the astros bullpen pitchers that were involved in the no hitter. It would make a cool picture to have.

Truly an amazing performance that only strengthens the chemistry of the bullpen.

the Astros can only hope this springboards them to a division title.

Easy there tiger, why mess with a good thing?

    1. Lidge has never been healthy for an entire pro season
    2. His arm is used to working out of the pen
    3. He only has 2 pitches, both are wicked bad but a starter needs at least one more or eventually the hitters will figure them out - see Dotel, Octavio
    4. Munro can step in and start for a couple of weeks, he's done it before
    5. Gerry will make a deal for a starter, sometime after the break. Mark my words.

Someone's gotta put up the box score, at least for the 'Stros pitchers:

IP H R ER BB SO HR PC-ST ERA
    R Oswalt 1 0 0 0 0 2 0 23-16 3.05
    P Munro 2 2/3 0 0 0 3 2 0 55-26 5.30
    K Saarloos 1 1/3 0 0 0 0 1 0 16-10 5.94
    B Lidge (W, 4-0) 2 0 0 0 0 2 0 23-15 1.41
    O Dotel 1 0 0 0 0 4 0 20-15 1.77
    B Wagner 1 0 0 0 0 2 0 13-10 1.69

First no-no against the Yankees since 1958! 45 years.

If you've got DirecTV or DISH, I believe the replay on YES (tonight and tommorow) is not blacked out. I will be checking it out again, as I was flipping back and forth with the Spurs game.

I watched and smiled then frowned that it wasn't 8 - 2 with 6 hits for the Yamks and a CG for Roy.

    For the game, WOW!

    For Roy O, OW!!!
