What a nightmare I had last night. I dreamed that I was watching sports center and that Bostjan Nachbar was killed in some sort of freak accident. I remember suffering from an assortment of emotions. First extreme sadness, then anger, then fright that we would have to go into the season with Glen Rice as our only SF. I remember going to CC.net and seeing the posts about how we must definately go after Lewis with everything we got. There were trades proposed that would make you puke. Anyway, after waking up, I realized it was only a dream. Damn, what kind of situation would we be in if Toronto didn't make the playoffs. Our future would definately not look as bright. Maybe it was watching the Texans game last night and seeing that one guy lay there on the field motionless that triggered my nightmare, but I sure as hell never want to experience another one like this again. Its times like these that I really appreciate an area like cc.net.
you are a dumb, dumb person. do not equate life and death with sports. sports are entertainment, life and death is life and death. im interested to know what assortment of emotions you suffer from when the rockets lose a game. actually im not. hopefully, you are just some kid, but chances are that you are 34 and sit on a couch all day, looking for a 'smart, tough' lawyer to help you sue mcdonalds for on the job injury, while your wife is working 3 jobs to support the 9 kids you decided to have. you are a r****d......and use contraception.

Doc, we need an IP check, Stat. Also, I become very emotional when we lose. I cry, I get angry, but then we win. It's never reached past anger. AND IT WON'T!
rsl5181, you are a tool. Post a picture, so that if I ever run into you, I can give you the beatdown you deserve. Seriously.........were you one of those kids in highschool who no one wanted to hang out with, who never got invited to parties, and who always got picked on. Damn it sucks to be you.
rsI5181:- You are very rude and should apologise at your earliest convenience! Reason you were presumptive and non constructive in your criticism of your fellow poster.
This is when you know you are truely a Rockets fan-dreaming about the players hahaha I myself had a wet dream about that one Rocket dancer last year with the short blk hair that was always behind on her moves while the others were on point. She's a hottie!
This may sound convoluted, but bear with me. If you ever read the late genius Douglas Adams' book called 'The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul', you might remember the bit where Dirk Gently tells Kate that he is a Private Detective. She hesitates a moment, and he asks her what's wrong. She says, 'Well, it just made me think of my friend, who plays the cello.' 'What do you mean?' he asks. 'Well, it's just that every time he ever tells anyone he plays a cello, they always say 'Bet you wish you played the piccolo, eh?' , and they always think they thought of it first, and they always think it is so clever and funny, never realizing that everyone else says it too, and it in fact was never clever.' 'So?' Dirk replies. 'I just didn't want to say the thing that everyone else would always say to a Detective, and wind up being neither original or clever.' 'Oh, pay it no mind, Madam,' and so on and so on.. The reason I bring this up is this: It always seems that every person who gets his hands on a computer and the ability to communicate online in a forum such as this one apparently feels the inspiration to be 'clever', and inevitably they try the old 'conversation with oneself' trick, by registering two accounts and assuming that no one will ever be the wiser, and that they are really clever and original for doing so, never realizing how in reality they are nothing more than immature drones who would not know an original thought if it swam up and bit them in the ASS!! Of COURSE these two jokers are one in the same. How many hundreds of times do we all have to see pretty much this exact same interaction before we all start performing some medieval 'youth-in-asia' on them??? Argh. Sorry to bore everyone, but after about 15 years of seeing this crap over and over again, that nerve is pretty much permanently raw. Sigh.
After this post I have two questions: 1. Would this be considered a "free post"? 2. Why is this thread still open?
First I get a lecture about life and death from a true philosopher, then I get accused of posting slander against myself. Give me a break people.
Never mind my earlier post. THIS is where the Hatorade chuggin's goin' on! I once had a dream about the Rockets. In fact, it was the last dream I ever had (I almost never dream). It was about 4 years ago: I dreamed that Hakeem got traded to Dallas. But, it doesn't stop there! In my Dream, he was yelling at his teammates for sucking, and he had CORNROWS! Weird ****, huh? I'm not obsessive or anything, that was just totally random! And on an unrelated note... I loved that book. The refrigerator god was classic! Have you read all five hitchhiker's guides (just curious)?
The last dream about the Rockets that I had was a nightmare. I dreamt that we traded Eddie Griffin to Dallas for Shawn Bradley so we would have two 7'6" players. I am not joking, I actually dreamt that.
i never had a dream about the rockets as a team. but i did dream that i was close friends with steve, cat, and beyonce knoles.
I think rsl5181 has a point. I dont agree on the insults. Because life is life. And trust me if an athlete dies i dont think management is going to be like " Oh my God we need a better Small Forward" These are real people and not a video game. I mean remember when Bobby Phils died, man i didnt even think he was that great of a basketball player but it got to me. There are bigger things than pro sports, damn thats hard for me to say cus im a fanatic but its true. These athletes have real lives and real families, just like u or me. So next time u post a thread like this make sure it sounds like our SF problem would be the least of your concern
Oh yeah you betcha.. if Adams wrote it, I read it (several times).. and each time I read one of them again, I inevitably catch something I missed previously.. Hmm.. dreaming about the Rockets? nahh.. all of my basketball dreams have me playing instead of watching.. but it's always the old college intramural stuff.. just for fun.. no way I can personally identify now with all these tattoo-sportin, rap-listening, cornrow-headed thugs enough to dream about them.. cuz, if you didn't know this: everyone in your dreams is YOU. Every word spoken, every action taken in your dreams is in fact YOU doing and saying it. Most people never realize this, but it's true. Kinda puts a whole new perspective on the whole dreaming thing, eh? Ciao
