the rockets must come away with Yao Ming, Nene Halario or Amare Stoudemire. We must get a possible center that may be able to dominate at some point from this draft. Ming is the Thing but if the deal falls through then we can not exit the draft with out a five. Who knows what will happen but in 83 Ralph Sampson was supose to dominate the NBA for the next decade. For what ever reason it never quite paned out. Dream on the other hand was never supose to be one of the greatest centers ever but it worked out. Sampson had every possible skill to go with his freakish athletisism and Dream was just plain raw. Fast forward two decades and we now have our choice of Halario, Stoudemire and Ming. Maybe the raw Halario or Stoudemire will have a better career for whatever reason than Yao Ming. Given a choice I want Ming but we must make sure to leave this draft with a 5.
If they do then they will be able to slide LaFrentz over to the 4 and move Dirk back to the 3. They would be awesome if he could just dominate the glass and block shots.
i don't know, if we can't get ming, the next best prospects aren't really 5's. i don't want hilario unless we get a stud 3 like odom but then nene might not be available at the clip's # 8. heck, let's just hope for yao. as for sampson he did dominate for about half a decade but his knees just fell apart. as for dream, he wasn't really raw like nene and amare, he dominated division 1 basketball for 3 years under scouts microscopes. he didn't have the skills he had in his prime but the rocks still knew what they were getting.
I was a huge phy slamma jamma fan. Dream was very raw. He was a great rebounder and shot blocker but his offense was limeted to very close to the basket and he could not dribble to save his life. All I know about Halario is what I have read. Big time rebounder, big time shot blocker offense limited to close to the basket. That sounds a lot like dream coming out of College. Of course there is only one Dream though.
