Why even mention the Lakers? Them making it is a given. It's between us and Phoenix.

    we're chasing the Lakers?

odds are we won't even see them in the playoffs..

we're more concerned with the jazz and the suns right now.

nothing is a given... say kobe hurts his knee again and misses 10-20 games.. shaq gets his toes stepped on he is out 7-15 games... is it still a given?

besides i gave all the team there to show reality... and in reality the season still has about 20 games left... thats why they play the game

I dont understand. Is there a big deal about being INFRONT of the lakers? I mean I see us taking the 0-4 exit out of the first round. Not sure what y'all see. I went to Miss Cleo for my forsight.

How long will it take people to understand that our resluts in the playoffs mean NOTHING. Odds are, we'd get sweeped against any of the top 3. It doesn't matter. What matters is that we MAKE the playoffs. We need our players to taste it because, once you taste it, there's no going back.

Also, we need to set the standards for Yao and our young players that, PLAYOFFS are ALWAYS the goal. Playoffs are not the reward, playoffs are tha BARE MINIMUM we should get. Yao getting into the playoffs in his first year will make him think "this is the norm, this is the minimum, now let's go further".

Barring a complete collapse by the Rockets, with our records tied, I can't see Phoeix having a better record than Houston from now to the end of the season.

BE WARNED though, Phoenix got Googs back to strengthen their bench, and will have Penny back in less than a week. I don't need to remind you that they were 7 or 8 games above .500 with Penny starting.

We're tied with Phoenix; that is the cause of some concern because they threaten our playoff contention. Lakers are now a nonissue. We simply must stay ahead of Phoenix. If Shaq does get injured, we can think about the Lakers again. Barring that, only Phoenix matters.

    That's how I see it.

    The Rockets biggest opponent is.......themselves.
