We have heard how Steve is willing to sign with Houston for the max. Unfortunately, with the number of injuries he suffered through this last year, that's not surprising. While I like Stevie and love his potential, my fear is that the injury problems may continue. We have heard from Popeye that the Rockets management has some of the same misgivings.

What can we do? Is there such a thing as performance bonuses or such clauses that we could put on his contract? i.e. must play 60 games, etc etc.

How about a max contract for three years? Would that be too insulting or would Stevie understand? I know that some people don't want to go through the nightmare of trying to sign him yet again, but I believe you can't keep an unhappy superstar in place even if you do have him in a long-term contract.

If you were CD, what would you do?

He's worth the risk. Besides, without an agent helping him, the Rockets could probably put in a buy out clause of he misses too many games with migraine problems. If it doesn't work out, we could also trade him, somebody else would be willing to take the risk. We have to bank on Steve right now, without him we have no team and have to start completely from scratch.
