There will be some re-structuring, no doubt.

There will be alot of changes to the D. Cody, Barwin, James, and possibly Smith gone. Who knows about GQ. Manning and Joseph get restructered deals most likely

Restructuring Schaub's contract is going to require a Tardis.

That may be true, but the Texans are terrible with the cap. I've said this for a few years now and not many have agreed with me.

A team that finally got good should not have cap problems after the first year of success. It's weak that we had to take a step back after 1 year of success because the cap forced us to dump the right side of our offensive line. We should have been able to add quality players to the team coming into this season.

That's more an indication that this team should have been better sooner... not that they "just got good".

They had the pieces in place in 2009 for a run... just could not finish games well. They wasted 2010 with an inexperienced DC and no secondary. All the while they had signed their first day picks, extended their key players, and not really had any cap casualties.

All teams go through this... good and bad. The key is to avoid years like 2010 where they decided to not have any viable replacements in the secondary, and this year where they decided to not have any viable replacements on the O-line.

You have to think Daniels, Smith and Barwin are going to be cap casualties.

It's a shame Tate had such a bad year. Was looking forward to flipping him for a 2nd rounder maybe.

Have to shore up the right side of the line. Have to get more out of the DL, other than Watt. Have to get some serious depth at LB. Have to get someone to help AJ at WR.

This team has quite a few holes and not a lot of money to fill them.

I believe schaub is guaranteed this coming year (unlike what the site seems to imply). Regardless, I'm guessing this is what other NFL teams look like also. You just don't often see it aggregated

Wade Smith's and Kevin Walter's contracts can no longer be justified.

    I chuckled and Laughed last year . . .
Basically Smith and Kubes sold out the Cap to save their jobs
    They got Manning and Joseph
They knew . .. THEY KNEW they would have Cap Hell After
    but
They also knew they would probably get pink slips without them

So . .. The Brought them in . . .and worry about the cap later
Because .. .they would get a later.
NOW we are here . . . Selling out the Cap bought them at least 3 yrs each.
Now they can go back to managing the cap . . .
We will see how it goes. . .
It will be interesting to see how this goes. . .

Bad news - I wouldn't be surprised if Kubiak stands pat with the line...

Good news - I wouldn't be surprised if they perform much better next season. Kubiak has proven he can develop the o-line. Seems like most o-line players improve significantly after just 1 year here.

I hope we address ILB in the draft, that's a position you can get immediate contributions from too. Hope the WR help comes via free agency, rookie WR's won't make much of an impact in this offense, not in year 1.

    Very true.

I said it at the time. Hell, I would have at the time too.
