No doubt Phil Jackson. He knows how to get the absolute best out of good players. Francis, Cat and Yao would shine under Phil.

Well, I'm only a yr older and I know his name. (You were right at 1st, though it is spelled Auerbach.) I know of Tiny Archibald as well. So Nahhh! :p

    J/K.

I wish Bill Parcells was a NBA coach. He's freaking awesome, or so it sounds. He doesn't take any poo, and he's about as old school as it gets. You have to be able to play the game right, not just rely on your skills to take you. Plus, he analyzes every little thing.

I really don't know who I would have that has actually coach an NBA game. Why not get Yao's mom so we can implement some good zones? :D

    Red Auerbach.

Only being 15 is no excuse :) This is the guy when you are talking pro hoops. Period.

RT second, Phil third. JVG somewhere in the middle of the pack (100? 200?) of guys who have ever coached in the NBA.

Off topic, but I am impressed that you have "Tiny" knowledge. This guy was a hell of a player. Only guy in history to lead the league in scoring and assists. He is an HOFer, but might be one of the most underrated guys in the hall.

    John Wooden definetely

if not him i would go:
    Chuck Daly

Yeah Nate Archibald was the shiznit, great player. Also one of my personal favs is World B. Free but he didnt get much recognition being on that star 6er team and sometimes is lost in the annals of nba history

For the record, Van Gundy has won 248 games and is far from "middle of the pack". JVG has the 15th best All Time winning % ever among all NBA coaches - .590.

Phil Jackson sucks! He's the definition overated. As long as we're winning and having success in the playoffs, I don't care who the coach is.

248 victories. Tied with that great former Rocket head coach Tom Nissalke.

That will obviously change, but does he ever pass up Don Chaney (285 victories, +37 from JVG)? 100 may be a little low, but 50 (in the company of Doug Collins, Bernie Bickerstaff, Paul Westphal and Chris Ford) is about where he belongs.
