A breaking news! Just 5 minutes ago, the news broke out that Lebron James lost his amacheur status because he accepted gifts from a local sports goods store. Now, he's no longer eligible for either high school or college. Since that's the case, he's already a pro, and if so, can the Rockets just sign him to play without having to draft him?

I am just curious to know. If you know the answers to the rules, let me know.

Well, in that case, can any NBA team just sign him right now? If they can, Rockets is one of them and has a chance.

No they can't. I believe the Collective Bargaining Agreement states that anyone who is under a certain age (21 or 22) must declare their intent to play and then they become draft eligible.

Nope. You still need to enter the draft.
