This is a good cause! A friend of mine is using our church yard and lot to start up a soccer league in our community. We have seen it grow from about 10 kids to over 50 in little over a month. He is currently looking for sponsor businesses to put their business names on some jerseys for the players. Most of the kids come from homes unable to afford uniforms, so he is going the old school little league route and looking for sponsors. His players are ages 15 and under... Here's a shot of their practice yesterday afternoon around 7 PM in just under 100 degree heat! The kids love him and I want to see his league succeed. He had another area league reject him joining because they felt threatened by the competition... he played for his country's team in the olympics years ago, and even had a career with Liverpool, so he knows his stuff... Anyway, if you'd like to help keep the youth of today off the street and see them involved in such a great activity, send me an email through the board and I can put you in touch with my friend, the coach of the start up team/league. Dude, there are waaaaay more people on CF.net close to or in the DF-Dub than you realize. BTW- I am sponsoring a logo as well... the main one maybe, on the front (Aflac)... we'll see... I don't have the deets though, that's Pedro's department. It might depend on the highest bidder, etc.

bump... still need some benefactors to help out the kiddos! They have been steady practicing on Mondays and Wednesdays, despite the recent 103 degree heat! Also, fwiw, I have not exploited the league by signing up players families on Aflac.
