Will they get more money to work with for the future or the off season?

Will they have more financial flexibility for next season by winning as much as they can in the current Playoffs?

What are the pros of going to the WCF?
    From a business standpoint.

I'm not sure but i think there are bonuses for players and coaches. Tickets for WCF would be BIG business. More games means more revenues but not enough to change the cap.

The Rockets are limited by the salary cap, not by revenue stream. And Les isn't going to go over the cap because he had a couple more home games.

They reduce the value of their (now Sacramento's) first round pick, thereby hurting a western conference foe.

They display a cohesive unit with a supportive fan base and a great coach which should make them more attractive to prospective free agents.

Les gets a nice payday and actually has some positive ROI for his change to Adelman and rolling the dice on Artest. This could entice him to go over the luxury tax for the right player.

While the NBA will market a "look what a TEAM can do" type thing, the whole david vs goliath angle you know Stern will be furious

Los Angeles is the single largest market after New York and LA boasts one of the league biggest global stars in Kobe Bryant, the amount of revenue from ticket sales/tv advertising/merchandise worldwide will probably drop significantly (especially the tv advertising/ratings) if Los Angeles does not advance.

Heck those vitamin/nike commercials with lebron and kobe will look foolish they probably should have waited for them to actually play against each other to release that.

Its huge for the Houston Rocket players.

It would raise their confidence level so high. Even if they can't win the championship. It would be just enough to motivate them to improve their game in the off season.

If Ron Artest has a big game 7 and we win, he is going to be a very rich man.

    argh no edit button.

+ It also allows players jerseys/items to be sold.

And... 2-3 home games extra would be like additional 3m$-10m$ for ticket sales alone.

Great for any pro-Rocks people, not as good for the league.

hey Les gets paid for 3 more home game!
that could include tickets, ads, food and other expenses at the arena, extra jersey and tshirt sells, potential season tickets purchases, maybe even some sponsors if we made it to the finals.
Don't they also get a piece of the broadcasting money?

Good for us but bad for DM and Les,

imagine we win Game 7, Ron will be worth more, probably 10M, and Scola, Landry, Brooks will demand more when the time comes to renew their contract.

No, it does not reduce the value of their pick..... Thats all determined by regular season standing.

On the flip side, they aren't expiring very soon and their trade value will be up (not that I want to trade them).

If houston advances itd be horrible from the NBA's Perspective. A lot of people watch NBA for the SUperstars, if LA gets Eliminated, they lose a boat load of kobe fans, and A lot of people would stop watching the WCF cuz houston lost their 2 stars too

Agreed with Sam. Although if Les really wanted to, we could just simply throw the boat at Lebron and Dwade early. :)
