A Brief History of the 44th Pick

    I went back and researched the 44th pick for the last 15 years. Of those 15 picks, only 3 have made an NBA ripple:

    1996: Malik Rose
    2000: Brian Cardinal
    2002: Lonny Baxter

    Interestingly two of the fifteen ended up as Houston "property":

    1999: Tyrone Washington (drafted by Houston)
    2001: Kyle Hill (drafted by Dallas but acquired by Houston)

    While this is indeed a deeper draft because of the high-schoolers and the international plalyers, the odds of getting a significant player are about 1 in 15... thank you Malik Rose!

    speaking of Kyle Hill --- Thought he was going to make the team a couple of years ago. What ever happened to him?

    there was mention that Kyle Hill would join us in the Summer League.
