There should be one on occasion. Here's Howlin' Wolf doing some teaching... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4Ou-6A3MKow" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I used to swing into the Big Easy for some shows on occassion. Unfortunately it's a straight dive bar. Any other venues in town that bring in some good live Blues?
Blues? Want blues? Here's Mr. Peter Green playing with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers in 1967. Crank it up! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QeOKj5XdVAE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> John Mayall's Bluebreakers, this time with a teenage Mick Taylor in 1968. I saw them on tour for this LP during that year at a club in Houston. This is just a couple of minutes from a 23 minute set. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/y-Um9Vw-KHw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And here's Mick Taylor playing a song with another Mick in 1969, and the band that stole him from Mayall. I suspect that Taylor is wondering what possessed him to do it. Mayall suited him far better, IMO. And to top it off, Taylor is playing rhythm guitar to Keith's lead. Crazy! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UzNxYjf_4p4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

When the Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin is bluesy as hell. You can hear the influence from Howlin Wolf. You can pretty much put his howls in the track and it would fit right in. Fallin by Alisha Keys is probably the bluesiest tune to come out in years.

Good to see Howlin' Wolf getting his dues, when it comes to the blues. I was once at a blues bar in Austin, and heard a slowed down, acoustic version of "Smokestack Lightnin'" does anyone know the YouTube link or album it is on?
Love me some blues. Here's some newer stuff inspired by the bluesmen of old. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cQHJsDOeiJg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F29Ky5ncefQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/x_ZeDn-hHGE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/syDgyjECYZA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It's time to weed out the pretenders: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XzW_Grri-K0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

No offense, but I think Gary Clark Jr is one of the biggest posers in Blues music. Yeah he looks cool and all with his strap, but he is like the black keys, far too commercial and slick for my tastes.
This girl has some pipes on her, and of course Joe always amazing! <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AnXgZZkPP14?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I'm not a big fan of Gary Clark Jr. Maybe it is because I grew up on blues music and lived 30 miles from ground zero (clarksdale, ms) where you can find any number of local dive joints with guys that could eat his lunch. Such as this guy: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tf3HJvLALR0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
