It was the best film I've seen this year, and my choice for Best Picture. Every aspect of the film was great. Ron Howard directed: enough said. Russell Crowe, despite being a pompous ass in real life, proves once again that he is a chameleon of the big screen. He gives an Oscar-worthy performance. Ed Harris was great as usual. Jennifer Connely is beautiful (that black hair is mesmerizing), and her acting ability is up to par as well. Not surprisingly, that's Crowe's real life girlfriend. Funny how he always seems to find solace in his female counterparts from movie to movie Even the score was well-done due to it's simplicity, which is often times underrated in the world of musical creativity, as it comported nicely with the theme of the movie. Its simplicity reminded me of the score from Francois Girard's The Red Violin, composed by John Corigliano. I even sensed ontological overtones throughout the film. Great movie that's definitely worth seeing.
I agree with TPL, see this movie.... Its a tear jerker for the chicks, so If you are on the ropes with your girl, take her to see this and you are sure to get some points!
Sounds like a great movie, but where does this put Will Smith and his supposedly Oscar-caliber performance in Ali? I'm gonna LOVE it if Russell Crowe wins!
