    First the chron:

I can't find a link, but I saw something in the sunday paper. They had an interview with Clutch(the bear not the admin) and he was asked about a "mishap" and he said that one time durning a timeout they were using that gun that shoots t-shirts into the upper level and one time he was using it and he got bumped. He triped and the gun went off right into the rockets huddle and "drops Cuttino Mobley like a sack of bricks". He said he went out the whole first half with a deep chest contusion.

Did anyone see this?? I almost never miss a game but I dont remember this.

    The "what if" is:

What if we are tied with Dallas when we play them the last game of the year, and the winner gets the 6th seed and the looser gets the 7th. The Wolves are in 2nd and the spurs are in 3rd.

    Starting line ups
    rockets

    G Mike Wilks
    G Bostjan Nachbar
    SF Eric Piatkowski
    PF Scott Padgent
    C Clutch)the bear

    :D :D

No way JVG would insult the fans by playing to lose like that. I don't care who we would match up better against.

We would tank it. No doubt in my mind.

It wouldn't be as dramatic as starting all those people, but we will rest all the starters big time. I wouldn't be surprised to see JJ and Mobley sit since they have been playing injured. Cato, MoT and Weatehrspoon wouldn't play much, and we'd let Oakley get as many minutes as possible to get into shape. Same goes for Marc Jackson.

Doesn't matter. It won't be the Spurs. The Lakers will be the 3rd.

Today's Chronicle talked about how tired the team was. I wonder who's fault that is? We've been saying all year about our guys play too many minutes and how JVG needs to expand the rotation and now the team is starting to pay the price. Cato is out (maybe unrelated to minutes) but JJ with the bad back is almost certaintly related to minutes. Yao, Cat, and Steve are all dead tired apparently and now we have a stretch of 3 games in 4 nights.

My message to JVG: Try to develop some of your players and give them a chance. If not for their sake, than for the sake of your stars being rested for the stretch run.

Cato is out because he slipped coming out of the hot tub and landed on his shoulder:D

I think I would MUCH rather play the Lakers in the first round. We have had good success with them this year.

Sac. and S.A. are the last 2 teams I would want to play in the first round of the playoffs. Dont get me wrong, Im not saying we would be the favorties to win against the lakers. But man I sure do like our chances against them. Especially the way Yao has been dominating everyone, even the Shaq Momma!:D

Yeah, but Karl Malone is now back in the lineup.

Cato is currently NOT in ours. You sure you wanna play the Lakers?

Tanking the last game for seeding purposes would be a really bad idea. First of all, it'd be unethical from a sports prospective. It also would be unfair to all the fans. Finally and perhaps most importantly, it'd guarantee a really fired-up Minnesota squad in the playoffs.

I would'nt mind Mo's speed over Karl's brain.:) I know that Malone is a good player still, but I think with Mo in the starting role, Cato should be back before the playoffs start, and not to mention we have the Oak tree (maybe) and Weatherspoon, I think we have an ok chance at making some noise against the Fakers.

To combine your 2 parts, when JVG wants to tank, he'll ask Clutch the bear to do the "mishap" again and shoot down every starter. :D

So, as a Rockets fan, you'd want to see the Rockets win and face the Spurs (who sweeped us, and we have beaten in AGES) rather than lose that game and give this team a chance in the playoffs?

I'm a fan too. I wouldn't be offended if they tanked that one game and faced the team they thought they had a betetr chance against.

I think what the CHron meant was that they have had 2 OT's in a row, and that can really be punishing!
