Who would win in a 7 game series?

The Lakers have the frontcourt length and the best finisher of today. The Rockets had the best big man and were the most resilient.

I'm curious to see if the Gasol-Bynum-Odom tandem would bother Hakeem enough to where he had to rely on the shooters. I personally think Hakeem would still dominate, mainly with the dream shake and the jump hook.

    Some assumptions:

NBA rules of the 90's applies
All 7 games on a neutral site
Pick one season for each team (ie 94 Rockets vs 10 Lakers)

    My Squads

    Hakeem-Bynum
    Horry-Gasol
    Elie-Artest
    Clyde-Kobe
    Smith-Fisher

Mad Max would completely neutralize Kobe!

Hakeem would eat Bynum for breakfast and Gasol for lunch and dinner.

    Rockets in 4.

Let's be honest guys. Hakeem might have trouble to a certain degree in today's new NBA rules. Remember illegal defense was replaced by 3 sec violation? As good as Hakkem was, I am not sure how he would do in today's change of rules.

Hakeem could play right now and probably be one of the top 5 centers in the league.

Hakeem would shut the paint down. On the other end no one on Lakers could stop him one on one. If you could not stop 94-95 Hakeem one on one, he was going to go bananas on you.

Lakers frontline has an advantage today because their opposition frontline has been undersized and underskilled.

I will take frontline of Hakeem and Horry over Gasol + Bynum + Odom and I will even throw in some Zan Tabak for you.

Hakeem would have loved the new rules. He loved roaming around. Kobe would be forced to jump shoot all night long because the Dream would either block anything near the basket or make Kobe regret coming into the lane. I think the 94 squad would have done a better job on LA than the 95 squad, but it's just opinion. OT was a monster, Gasol would never push him around ever. Otis was the only PF that I ever saw that could match strength with Karl Malone.

Bottom line is that those Rockets teams played a lot more scrappy than last seasons team did and that team took them to seven. All they did was change Ariza for Artest and they still don't like teams that play junk yard ball with them. Push them out of there comfort zone a little and they fall apart and let Kobe save them.

This year's Lakers won't even win a championship, the Celtics are going to punch them in the face and they won't fight back.

    So this tread is fail.

I would say the rockets would win in 6 not in 7.

Any team during Hakeem's prime years, would get dominated. ;)

Hakeem would have made Bynum and Gasol his b****es in the first qtr and dump them in the second.

Gasol would finesse him and shoot over him.

But we can ride Hakeem's dick as much as we want I guess.

Hakeem would dominate but I seriously doubt any one would stop Kobe. Love or hate, dude is one of the greatest players to play the game. IMO 2nd best SG to play in the NBA.

Doubt anyone is going to lock up and stop Kobe...and Kobe gets that whole team going despite the haters thinking it's Gasol. Kobe displayed last night, if you ain't stopping him, you ain't stopping that team.

Last night Gasol dominated as well. Sure, the team is Kobe's. But Gasol is probably the best big man in the NBA. He's so smooth. He's 7 foot, can pass, has post moves, can shoot over people, can stretch the floor, can play defense, can rebound. He's pretty amazing.

I think Hakeem would score 82 points on Bynum.
