Rockets, but that Celtics defense in 08 was legendary. They were actually regarded as one of the best defensive teams of all time.

08 Celtic's defense was pretty damn good but going against the Dream? Seriously....

Rox in a tough LOW LOW LOW scoring 7 game series.

The real comparison is 09-10 Celtics vs the 94-95 Rox...now that would be a battle of wills.

Dream was getting Quadruple doubles like kids get suckers at the dentist. Dream would have made GarNOT his woman, easily.

The Celtics haven't won anything yet. Wait 3 weeks and come back with this poll.

I know I'll get blasted for this but I picked the Celtics. They had it all. Of course Dream would have had his way with Perkins. But other than that, the Celtics had 3 superstars on the roster with Pierce, Allen, and Garnett. The Celtics had a nice post presence with KG, a solid wingman with Paul Pierce who was playing great then, and a good shooter with Ray Allen. Rondo was not at the level he is today but he was still a good defensive PG. Also, Posey was huge off the bench. I think Thibodeaux would have come up with a gameplan to limit Dream to 30 points or so and keep the supporting cast in check. The 08 Celtics blew out a very good Lakers team that we see winning today. I like the Rockets but I gotta go with the Celtics.

    Okay,

    Dream >>>>> Kendrick Perkins
    - Celts would have to double team all day long, leaving 3 pointer shooters open. OMG, Dream would average 35, 15 rbs, and 5 blocks

    Garnett >> Horry
    - Horry would force him to take some tough shots though

    Clyde > Ray Allen
    - Clyde would post Jesus Shuttlesworth up, but Ray would run him through 4 thousand screens

    Pierce >>> Elie
    - Elie would guard him tough, but Pierce is an offense nightmare

    Rondo > Kenny
    - Cassell would have to play big in this series, Rondo would put Kenny on ice skates.

Our bench would have to give them fits, especially when Dream was out of the game.

i think the different rules would matter a bit. today's rules would benefit the celtics guards. our championship teams took advantage of the 3 pt lines when hakeem passed out.

i think it really boils down to hakeem vs tom thibodeau's preparations. i think celts 08 defense was amazing that year, and i prefer watching a defensive team over an offensive one (i blame jvg for that) but i think hakeem would force the celts to double team him everytime n we'll have them playing to our advantage. hakeem in either years

Depends on which team Cassell plays for.

    Toss up.

Hakeem would kill Perkins. Perkins can't stop Dwight when he's moving. Hakeem would fake Perkins outta his skin. Garnett could slow Hakeem down a bit though. But then Perkins couldn't guard Horry as well. Rockets have the big man advantage simply because Hakeem was so good. The Celtics team defense would tire him out though.

Rondo wasn't as good of a playmaker. A great defensive player though, constantly providing steals and energy. Kenny/Cassell would match him and Cassell though. Toss up. I think the Rockets might even take it.

Pierce would beat up on Ellie. Both players are pretty clutch. But Pierce would win the matchup by a solid margin. Just too complete offensively.

Ray Ray and Clyde would balance each other out. Clyde wasn't as explosive as earlier and Ray would exhaust Clyde running around screens.
