What can I possibly do with some football cards that I have had since '92...They are mostly upper deck and Pro Set. There are some Fleer and Cutting Edge in there as well.

The David Klingler rookie card might be worth a nickel.

I'm sure you could trade that Tony Mandarich rookie card for an '84 Mustang hatchback...

The funny thing about the late 80's early 90's card collecting market (the height of it) is that hardly any of the cards from that era are worth anything.

That was a bad time. I'd say 85-86 was a nice year with the limited trading card rookies like Clemens, Bonds, Puckett, Olajuwon, Jordan. Then overproduction set in when Fleer came out with all those crap sets. And people started getting ideas that just sucked. Maybe a bad run of like 10 years after that. The Shawn Kemp/David Robinson rookie year probably being the worst ever in terms of value. I think only Emmitt Smith had any value about that time. And even his cards sucked.

Made a comeback prob in late 1990's. The sigs and low print cards starting coming out which amped up value. And higher quality sets started to get printed.

Value seems high now, but you are better off buying the cards you want off e-bay then trying to collect 'em. Too damn hard to get lucky. All Rookie signs are high in value now tho'.

If I were to guess the best time to collect is now. Cards are easy to buy off e-bay and production of signs was limited. The Sigs are getting overproduced now, but at least they have some limited multiple sigs that have large value. That may never change. Not sure. But I like the market right now.

As a former collector I can tell you the same thing.

Mass production of the base sets from Upper Deck, Topps and Fleer made any set from about 88-94 near worthless with few exceptions.
