"It's bad for Republicans because in the absence of any real leadership, the freaks fill the void and define the party," McKinnon said. Saturday's march is sponsored by the same loose-knit coalition of groups that helped to organize health-care protests over the summer and anti-tax rallies in the spring. They include the Tea Party Patriots, ResistNet and Freedomworks, a Washington-based organization headed by former House majority leader Richard Armey (R-Tex.). The march has also been heavily publicized by Fox News host Glenn Beck as part of his "9-12 Project." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/11/AR2009091103997.html?hpid=topnews should be a fun day today
They've mislabeled themselves. They're really against Obama's economic policies, not his tax policies.
These protesters are un-American. What American doesn't like college football? I say we counter protest. But on Tuesday, when there's no football.
The sad thing is, I think this is the truth. They made up their mind to oppose Obama and the dems before anything started. They don't care about the issues, the policies, or anything. They only care about opposing anything and stopping the Dems. It's really sad and comical. It's akin to the liberals who claimed the 9/11 was a conspiracy by the CIA to go to war with Afghanistan. This is the other side. Idiots on the other side of the coin.
No its not. Peddling conspiracy is one thing. Sabotaging an elected president at every turn by using loopholes in democracy is quite another thing.
I thought this Dick Army looked familiar. Just more astroturf. Wake me when it's time for "So You Think You Can Dance".
Love the fat guy in the cowboys shirt... like he's not going to cost the healthcare system a fortune before he's done.
I love the "in god we trust not the government" poster one of them is holding up. The irony of it all.
Not that I agree with their stance...but does their lack of diversity somehow give them less of a right to express their opinion? Does their lack of diversity somehow discount their point? If a lack of diversity somehow makes their point less meritorious, that is an odd state of affairs indeed.
I think he is saying that it's a very slim slice of America that represents that point of view - a fringe...not the mainstream.
this was the status update of one of my friends on facebook who is participating in this march: "i hear obama will be in minnesota today...how convenient." because the president should base his schedule around a bunch of freaks who will hate him no matter what he does? ****tards, all of them.
So they don't want ANY income tax? At all? Like that's ever going to happen. How many Republicans would even argue that we should abolish income taxes completely?
Exactly. What COULD happen...won't, but could...is that government starts spending judiciously. Government eliminates waste. Government gives back to the states things like education. We COULD pay down the Federal debt and at some point, have meaningful tax reductions in peace time without running up the deficit. It will not happen, because government seeks to be all things to all people...not because it is the right thing to do, but because those in Congress (on BOTH sides of the aisle) want to be perpetually re-elected.
