Slovenia just barely lost to Isreal today in the elimination round that would have sent them to the finals round, 76-78.

    Nachbar had an ok game: 24 min, 14 points, 1 assist, 6 rebounds, 4 fouls, 5-7 2pt FG, 1-3 3 pt FG, 1-1 FT, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 4 fouls

    http://www.eurobasket2003.com/uk/resultat_match.asp?id=25

Nachbar's numbers for his other three games are:

    23 min/game
    40.7 FG%
    33.3 3 pt%
    54.5 FT%
    2.0 rebs
    1.7 assists
    0.7 steals
    0.3 blocks
    11.0 points/game

Overall I'm a disappointed with Nachbar's numbers. If you look at nba.com stats for nba players in Euro championships, Nachbar's numbers are worse than the likes of Okur, Turkoglu, Jaric, Drobnjak, and Giricek. His stats are comparable to Primoz Brezec, Moiso, and Abdul-Wahad. On the positve side he looked better than Songalia, Tsakalidis, Diaw, Bagaric, and Planicic.

This is however only a four game sample size and shouldn't, of course, be an end all to grade each of these guys' talents.

Can I say Nachbar is a bust now? Maybe still a little bit early?

No defense and mediocre offense. He already had opportunity to prove himself in summer league and European Championship Tournament but he failed.

I am not so sure he will play over 10 mpg next season.

Doesn't look good does it. :( Does any one have stats on the rest of the team? I'd like to know who the main players were & how Boki fit in with them for a real comparison.

Hey, your stats didn't include the 4th game.

Nachbar ended up shooting 46% FGs and 33% on 3s.

    Check this out, though

Peja shot 4-15 in his 4th game, and 0-5 from 3s.

    Peja's 4 game line is 36.7% for FG% and 28.6% 3s.

    hehe

Considering he only received about 20-25 mpg, I think he did fine. He shot well from all around the floor, and as people have mentioned, he's been real active on the defensive end.

I mean Yao didn't avg. over 15ppg and 10rpg; and you don't hear people bashing him.

Your welcome. This has been a slow summer (they all seem to be) and I found the Boki updates a good topic for discusion.

yeah my post said for his other 3 games. At the time nba.com hadn't compiled all 4 games together. Boki's final averages for the 4 games are as follows:

    24 min/game
    .459 FG%
    .333 3 pt FG%
    .583 FT%
    3.0 rebs
    1.5 assists
    0.5 steals
    0.3 blocks
    11.8 points/game
    1.3 turnovers
    3.0 fouls

you really don't like Peja do you? :p

I watched that Bokis game last night and I don't believe what I saw. Boki opened the game like he is man on the mission. He scored first nine points for Slovenian lead 9:0, he couldn’t miss, he rebounded, he slashed he ... . He scored all of his 14 points in first seven minutes of the game. Slovenia was leading 27:12 when he was pulled out because of his second foul. He looked great...BUT after that he didn't do NOTHING. At the end Slovenians lost and Boki was one of the reasons.

I used to like him until he missed that shot against the Lakers.

NBA history would be a much thing had he made that shot.

Qyntel is a head case waiting to unravel. It is only a matter of time. He likely going to end up like that high school kid Dallas drafted a few years ago who by the way is presently nowhere to be found.

    Boki IS IT!!!

I want Boki to be the man as much as anybody but 58.3% free throw average is a bad sign in my book for a guy that is supposed to be a "shooter".

Difference is, Yao was not averaging 15PPG and 10RPG in his first season in the NBA, where the level of competition is much higher. If he doesn't 15/10 in the CBA/Asian Championship then I'd be worried. Besides, didn't Yao average like 20/10 in the World Championship playing against higher competition and with crappy guards?

Either way though, it sure is starting to look like Boki is not the man we drafted him for: 15th pick, reasonable expectations and most importantly SHOOTING TOUCH. In fact, looking at his line I'm starting to think that Yao shots better. That means our scouts stink.
