Just thought since the offseason is still kind of slow it would be fun to get other folks thought on a potential Rockets and Celtics rematch from the 80's. Your thoughts......

I'd be more interested in seeing the Rockets go to a championship against Miami.

It'd be especially nice if we'd sweep Penny and Shaq again!

miami is a dinosaur for a team, too old with just 1 superstar. i think chicago and maybe toronto are better than boston or miami.

I see Chicago being more like the Phoenix of the East. Lot's of talent and no ring. Toronto I think still has a couple more years before making any real noise I'm thinking maybe Cleveland and Boston in the ECF next year. I think Rockets and Phoenix in WCF, barring any Tim Donaghy like behavior.

it could happen of course the chances are unlikely. as nice as both teams look on paper the whole issue of chemistry and gelling have to come into play. that to me is what separates the good from the elite. all the good teams have talent, the elite have both talent and chemistry.

its going to be harder for the rockets to make it to the finals with the dallas,SA and suns teams in the west and not to mention some of the others who aren't pushoevers either.

Miami has actually, but slowly retooled.....Payton is gone, as well as Eddie Jones.

This year the have alot of athleticism off the bench with Daequan Cook (acquired from a draft trade) and Dorell Wright (who has gotten better and better each season since coming out of high school) and they even have Smush Parker as back up PG. With Mourning as the only person on the bench who is over 30, everyone else even Smush Parker is under 27.

They only have have 6 players left over from their finals team...but most who are still there where major contributors and Shaq, Zo, and Walker are the only ones over 30.

It's fair to say that Wade was coming back from injury last season....Miami is still a dangerous team, especially being in the East.

Sorry, I hadn't seen it before and was unable to start threads when I thought of it. Didn't mean to step on your toes.

Miami ain't really all that dangerous, Wade gets all the damn calls and even with Donaghy gone, fair reffing in the league is still next to impossible with the pace, superstar status, and Stern controlling everything, Miami was given the 2006 Finals. I think that Dallas choked b/c they realized that the league didn't want them to win and couldn't no matter how hard they tried. You can't tell me all the calls are human error.

I think Boston has an extremely legitimate chance to go to the Finals as well as the Rox. I don't think either team will mesh until the latter half of the season, but once they do, look out.

Rox will probably do a similar season to the one in 94-95, imo. Boston just needs to mesh in time for playoffs and the East as anyone's take.

Nooooooooooooo....don't give them gang of chokers in any credit...they choked because they're soft and are allergic to winning. They got punked by 8th seeded team who was almost two games from not making to the playoffs.

As horrendous as the calls where in the Finals that year, the Mavs only have themselves to blame for blow 2-0 lead and 14 point half time lead to lose the series in six games.

They only have themselves to blame for going through all that heartbreak...let Cubes try to win a figure skating.

It's something about Chicago...looked great against Miami, but got manhandled by Detroit.

The only common thing that may hold both teams back is team chemistry. However, for the Rockets, the other obstacle is the tougher Western Conference.

If the Rockets make it to the finals, I really could care less who they play, if anything. Just like 1994 & 1995, they will play whoever they will play if they get there, and it is out of our control as far as who they end up playing is concerned.
