Student allotment was gobbled up fast for this one they will be there they always show up for a big name opponent. I wish we could have played UT when we were actually good and they were 5-7. Its our bad luck that we get them when we suck and they are really good.
The first UH game I ever went to was bleacher gate. I'll never forget stepping out of my dorm that morning and literally the first people I encountered was a group of UT students passing by who loudly proclaimed what a **** hole the school and campus was and how they couldn't believe anyone would go here. I was 18 at the time, had barely unpacked my bags, and didn't give two ***** about football. I came here because I got a fat scholly to a program I liked. But that stuck in my craw for some reason, so I went to the game to see what all the fuss was about. In retrospect I was horribly naive and took the experience (read: mistreatment) way too personally but yeah, a win on Saturday and I can die a happy man.
Last night my kid said (paraphrased of course), “I wasn’t planning on going..but I’m gonna go. We may get killed, but they’re not gonna play again any time soon, and they haven’t in a really long time. I think I’d regret not going” He has to coach a basketball tournament first, but he said he’s gonna bust ass to show up in red to root them on.
I came within a camel's butthair of coming back to Houston for this, because I'm guessing it will be the last time they play again in my lifetime.
