    Hey guys,

Morey was on today. I did a recap for it but sorry if the spelling and etc isn't perfect. I was short on time. Good stuff though...

Appreciate the heads up and the writeup. I think a podcast will turn up soon.

    [rquoter]
host - Asking about how Yao's minutes will go? Will they go up? any idea

DM - We'll probably see a slight mod on the minutes. Been in contact with the doctors and they have been in a balancing act just like Adelman. Rockets are focus on Yao and his long term career. 12 minutes each halves. His minutes should go up if everything works out.[/rquoter]

    That's encouraging.

Thanks for the recap. Kind of weird that Morey is rooting for the Knicks after he raped them of their draft picks...

He's rooting against them because we have their pick.

That's what I thought as well. We'll see though. I'm on the fence on one thing though. I'm not a doctor by any means but I think Houston should push it with Yao in the latter part of the season. I mean I don't want them to try and extend him with a contract without seeing he can be at least a 32 MPG guy. I think that's what JVG had him at and he was great.

You can't build a team championship with him not playing at his best. I do think his minutes will go up but I think they surely need to test that foot come March into the playoffs.

[Rquoter]Host - Are you seeing a different player in K-Mart during the preseason?

DM - I hope he carries it over. He was the best offensive player in the league before coming to Houston. He's defending better, passing the ball, and overall looks better [/rquoter]

Interesting. THE BEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER in THE LEAGUE? Is that an exact quotation?

And it's encouraging to hear Daryl Morey say he's defending better and passing. I thought he would be but if Morey says it, at least we can trust he has some evidence to back it up.

Was one of the best offensive players stat wise. He's talking about the freethrows and etc. He's stated this several times.

He probably meant, "There was a stretch when he was back in Sacramento years before being a Rocket in which our numbers indicate he was arguably the most effective offensive player in the league."

I doubt he really thinks Martin was a better offensive player than, say, Steve Nash or Dirk Nowitzki.

Yeah this is pretty much what he talking about. Sorry about the confusion. I was on a conference call and had the ear plug in one ear... hehe I wouldn't recommend this though...

Yep. Glad to hear that his limitation may not last all season long.

My favorite part of the interview was when he talked about public perspective vs GM perspective and then wouldnt comment on who was underated.

He also basically said politely that alot of people are idiots and don't really understand the team aspect of the game.

Yeah I thought that was awesome... I still like his NYK comment though. That was pretty funny.

Fewer minutes for Brick-ee-yea? Music to my ears.

Best case IMO is to offset Yao and Battier. That surrounds Yao with greyhounds. A fresher Shame can then (hopefully or allegedly) keep some of the defensive intensity elevated when there's no 7'6" presence in the paint.

Unlike the rest of the board, not a Morey fan. But credit where credit is due. Budinger, Hill, Jeffries and Courtney Lee are all nice pickups. Took awhile but the Rockets eventually figured out too short, too slow and too unathletic wasn't going to get the job done when Stern wants the game officiated to put butts in the seats.

No DM credit for Scola. Dumb-dumb Danny Ferry was offered Scola first and he passed. Ferry would probably still have a job and the Cavs might still have LBJ if Ferry hadn't blown this obvious trade.
