* Thinks Houston is a great fit, great players. Doesn't have to be the savior because the team is already good. * Uptempo. Loves to get out and run. Looking forward to having fun with this team. * TJ Ford comparison. Wants his decision making to be similar but thinks he (Brooks) is a better shooter than TJ. * He plays bigger than his size. All about heart. * Thinks NBA 3 point line wont be a problem. Shot far out in college anyway. * Loved Oregon uniform. * Probably be a Nike guy. Quick interview.
Of course he loved the Oregon unis. Nike pretty much owns U Oregon athletics and he wants to sign with them too.
Much superior athlete and more natural scorer. Brooks was the toughest Pac 10 player to stop despite his size.
and since everyone seems to be obsessed with his height. he's also 1.5" taller than JLIII. just for reference purposes: http://www.draftexpress.com/measurements.php?year=2005&sort2=ASC&draft=0&sort= John Lucas's height barefoot: 5' 9.25" in shoes: 5' 10.5" / wingspan: 6' 0", standing reach: 7' 8" http://www.draftexpress.com/measurements.php Aaron Brooks height barefoot: 5' 10.5" in shoes: 5' 11.75" / wingspan: 6' 4", standing reach: 7' 10" Other players: Raymond Felton: 5' 11.5" in shoes: 6' 0.25" / wingspan: 6' 4.25", standing reach: 8' 2" Chris Paul: 5' 11.75" in shoes: 6' 1" / wingspan: 6' 4.25", standing reach: 7' 9" Look if Greg Oden and pretty much every other player [that wants to be] is listed by their in-shoes height (which is typically 1.5" added to their barefoot height), then Aaron Brooks is 6 feet tall. he'll be playing in shoes afterall.
Amazing that his standing reach is where it is. He arms must be longer than his legs! I hope this guys pans out for the Rockets we can't afford anymore bad picks. Here's to hoping this guy is the next Calvin Murphy!
also for REFERENCE ONLY!, TJ Ford (at the time he was drafted) http://collegebasketballnews.scout.com/2/115362.html barefoot: 5' 11" / in shoes: 6' 0.25" / weight: 162 / wingspan: 5' 11.5" / standing reach: 7' 9.5"
I think the major thing that Aaron Brooks needs to do is to add some weight to his frame. If he can manage to do that and keep his speed, then it won't be that much of an issue for big guards to back him down.
You are being stupid. You have most likely never seen him play but still feel the need to put him down.
The best thing about Brooks is that we haven't had a guard with his quickness and shooting ability in quite a long time. I'm convinced from watching some of his games that given some time and opportunity, this kid could be a star.
JL3 alao lead scores and assists in last summer league. So there is a reason V-span wants to skip SL.
After checking out all the Youtube clips about this boy.....I fell in love with him. Come and laugh at me, but he reminds me of Iverson. I am very glad that we took him!
