It seems half of the posters say 7'5" all the time, while the other half say 7'6". Does anyone know how tall this giant is?
To me, both heights are obscenely tall, and I'm afraid of anyone taller than me because there are so few people like that (I'm 6'6") in everyday life. That little bit aside...ROXRAN's got the right heights. More pressing is his weight - of which 298 seems to be about right. Not bad for a player of his size; at least he's not Keith Closs!
From what I recall in Chicago, he measured 7'51/2" in his bare feet and 7'61/4" in his shoes. It struck me at the time if he was in American BB shoes he should have been at least 7'61/2". Please correct me as it is some time ago!
Does the NBA go by heights with shoes or without shoes? I have always wondered this since if it did go by shoes some players could just wear taller shoes. And it would make me feel differently since my doctor says i'm 5-7 without shoes and when people ask me I tell them 5-7 not 5-8 when I'm wearing shoes. So do players say they are 6'10 when in actuality they are only 6'8 1/2. It just makes more sense by going with heights without shoes. Does anyone know?
Theres one way to find out for sure. When October rolls around, send rockhead to a chinese steak house, strapped with a camera and some measuring tape.
I think the NBA stats for players are with shoes on. Shaq for example, is really like 7'0 1/2, but over 7'1 with shoes on. Iverson is really 5'11 but 6'0 on the stats sheet. Dunvey is often said to be 6'10, when he really measured at 6'8 and 6'9 1/2 with shoes on at NBA's pre-draft camp. -G'day-
