My son sent me a text with this and reminded me how he kicked their ass in hoops last year. I sent him back a picture of Indiana Jones punching a Nazi.

As a product of TX public education, I honestly in part blame an over-emphasis on "Texas History" with very little European or World history.

I learned most everything about the Holocaust after I was 18 years old, which is kind of sad. Sad!

I was a sheltered private school kid, but we only did 1 year, 7th grade, of Texas history (elementary school I can't remember). 8th was US up through the Civil War, and HS was 1 year of US and 1 of world history. That was way back in the 80's/90's but I kind of always assumed that public schools were similar.

You never know, one of these kids could be a Supreme Court Justice some day.

Granted, I grew up in a Jewish household...but there was nothing in my Texas public school upbringing that would've led anyone to this. They're independently stupid.

If you're a parent of a kid at this school, you should probably see what's up. For the rest of us, this is just another decontextualized anecdote, like the antifa rioters who set recycling bins on fire or the Trump supporters who harass or are harassed by BLM supporters. To the extent the anecdotes are true at all, the only point of passing them around is to justify one group or another's political allegiances.

You have caused me to learn something. I said to myself, 'A Jew named Leroy?' and then I looked it up and it's a Hebrew name, which is really cool. See, I am still a complete dumb**** in so many ways but I know all about Sam Houston and Bowie and all those guys.

But seriously, I didn't mean to imply the education would lead to this display. I meant to say that, if I saw a bunch of idiots in the high school photo throwing Nazi salutes when I was that age, I wouldn't have known the full significance of it, because I lacked any knowledge of world history. I did, however, get three full years of TX history before turning 17, LOL.

A point needs to be made that the Nazi salute is intolerable. These kids need to be made an example of.

Also it's funny that when a small group of white people do something stupid, people say "just a bunch of stupid kids, no one cares"

but when a small group of people resort to violence in UC Berkely while the majority of people protest peacefully, all of a sudden it's the entire protest group that's being violent.

I remember watching kids get read the riot act for not standing at the anthem or wearing hats indoors, assumed at the time it was because the coaches and assistant principals were all veterans. Surprised this was tolerated but I guess there's a lot of leeway on senior class photos, just like all the girls doing that stupid Charlie's Angels gun thing in mine twenty years ago.

What? Three years of Texas history? That can't be right. Did you fail a grade a couple of times and kept taking Texas history over and over again?

I took Texas history I believe in the seventh grade. This was back in the early seventies. I'll have to ask my Dad how many years of Texas history he had. He was in school in the 30's and 40's.
