Thought it deserved it's own thread. There is a lot riding on this game... Durant's last home game? Big 12 POY up for grabs between Durant & Law Big 12 champ still up in the air (UT would need to sweep this game and @ KU on Sat) Seedings can improve with a victory for either team. Not to mention 2 fierce rivals in one of the biggest games of the year... I think UT pulls this one out. The crowd will hopefully be crazy. Durant will clinch POY with a 30/20 game. Law will make it close by continuing to be the most clutch player in college basketball this season. UT 74 A&M 69
going to the game hopefully, hope UT can pull it out in a nailbiter. Look for D.J. to have a good game.
Should be fun, I think the Aggies pull out a close victory when Law goes insane and takes over in the final 4 min.
Augustin is the key. If we give him trouble we should win. I dunno though... Im not having a great feeling about this game. Forget the conference championship for now, whoever wins this game is gonna gain some momentum going into the national tourney. Damn I wish ESPN2 was HD in College Station...
the longhorns are going to win tonight. i am leaving in 20 minutes to go line up at the frank erwin center.
bet this is going to be a good game i wonder if UT wins if they will storm the floor like they just won the national chapmionship like da Aggies...
I think the Ags take it in a real close one tonight, but I'll be real interested to see how Texas' defense has improved since the last game. No Ed Hightower tonight (I would assume since he did the last game) so I wouldn't expect near as many fouls called as the last game which should benefit the Ags. As for POY, as a die-hard Aggie fan, I have to say that it is Durant, and its not even close. If we were talking about MVP, then I'd give strong consideration to Law, but I still think Durant is just amazing. Just compare UConn and UT, and you'll see the real difference Durant has made. What they have done with such a young team this year is amazing and says a lot about both Barnes and Durant.
The Aggies DIDN'T storm the floor after beating UT in the last match. As for last season, that put us on the so called "map". Seemed like it was the start of the turnaround for the school. So, why not storm the court after years of poor basketball? It was something to finally cheer for, and showed that perhaps the future was bright for Aggie basketball....which it has been. (just like Rocketman Josh said)
What Up said and ..... To be fair, when A&M stormed the court last year, that was one of the few cases where I believe it was warranted. That game put the Ags in the tourney last year and set off the Ags turnaround. If they didn't win that game, the Ags are not in the Top 10 this year and they don't have any 5 or 4 star recruits coming in next year.
I got at the Frank Erwin Center at 5:30 and waited in a huge ass line. Two hours later, everyone was all scrunched up trying to get into the game. I didn't even have to try to stand, that's how close we were to each other. Next thing you know we were 10 feet away from the door, only to have it be shut on us!
UT vs. A&M: OUR TEXAS STATE OUTLINE AT HALFCOURT IS BIGGER THAN YOUR TEXAS STATE OUTLINE AT HALFCOURT
The Ags better stay away from Durant ... He is going to get the call every time and cant get into the foul trouble like they did last game.
Don't get me wrong ... I'm not complaining about the officiating. If there is a block/charge call with Durant involved it is going to go his way every time. I think he's earned that with his play just like Acie gets alot of calls too. I'm just saying that the Ags have to not be too aggressive when it comes to Durant. We cant afford to have Antanas and JJ out like we do right now. The Ags are not playing well at all today and Acie's shot is way off. Offensive rebounding has kept them in the game.
That suck's man - I was thinking about going to the game too but I figured the line would be outrageously long and I have a test tomorrow morning. Horns up 7 at the half. Hook 'em
