Man, I have to admit, I was scared my Yankees were going to be taken out by the Mariners. Down by 1 and having been shut out in your last 17 innings or so and to come through with 8 straight hits and 7 runs is unbelieveable!! You have to give these guys credit for sacking up and getting aggressive. GO YANKEES!! ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!
RP!!! Another Yankee fan! I must admit I still feel a little suspect abut the pitching staff. Andy needs to come through again. It was good to see the bats finally wake up. Hopefully after tonight the Yanks will relax and finally find a grove. Go Yankees!!! Oh, and the Mets can kiss my a** ------------------ I am the thread killer
You Yankee fans.... The reign is over. Steinbrenner is going down. The new Sox owner... will be...AT&T. They have more money than a thousand Ted Turners and George Steinbrenners. THE CURSE WILL BE BROKEN!!! GO SOX!!! ------------------ Starting at shortstop, for the Houston Astros, Nomar Garciaparra. or Starting at First Base, for the Boston Red Sox, Jeff Bagwell!!!
If the Yankees don't win, they suck! Any team that out spends every other team in baseball by like $20 million better be the best team in the majors. This is why I hate baseball! ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
Give me a break. The only reason they are "sacking up" is they are s#$t scared of not performing in line with their massive payroll. I'm kinda hoping for a Subway world series just so the rest of baseball wakes up and realizes how much of a joke baseball has become, and that its not about competition any more, its about the big markets. As at August 31st 2000: NY Yankees $112,013,459 Seattle $61,715,000 Of course, its not the Yankee's fault and in their situation I would do the same. ------------------ Maybe all the rulers are wrong. This whole argument about out-spending is so tired. If you can't play with the big boys, sell your team to someone who can. Nomar P***s envy is a horrible thing. There are groups for just this kind of thing. GOOO YANKS!!!! [This message has been edited by mc mark (edited October 12, 2000).]
Jeff, I hate Baseball cause it's boring the idea that a championship can be bought only reenforces that I hate that we gave the L'Astros a new stadium to get some of that winning money . . then they cut the PAYROLL and some Damn decent players. And then WE SUCK SUCK SUCK I think the average baseball player may not be as athletic as Tiger Woods and HE'S A GOLFER!! Rocket River ------------------
Careful what you wish for mc, because if baseball continues this way:- a) people will stop caring and winning will lose its value (it's already happened to a degree) b) The "big boys" who can compete will become fewer and fewer. As for the "out-spending argument getting tired", I couldn't disagree more. You better get used to it because from now until when the existing baseball CBA expires, its going to increase to saturation point. I'm not surprised by your position, however. You guys are just trying to compensate for the cheapened sense of accomplishment a Yankees World Series brings. ------------------ Maybe all the rulers are wrong.
