The Phil Jackson bar is you get to 40 wins before 20, then you can contend. Interpolating that win rate, 56 wins is probably the minimum where you can start envisioning us with a better than 10% chance of a championship. Beyond that it's all up to injury luck. KD doesn't need to play all the games for us to win 56+ either; 50-60 games played and being healthy in time for May should be good enough. We've certainly got a great shot this year. If it happens I actually think it becomes the mental composure of Amen Thompson that takes us over the top. We learned these past playoffs who our dogs were. FVV, Amen, Sengun, and even Jabari in limited minutes handled the pressure and thrived. Now with KD we finally have the guns big enough to compete with anyone else in the league. We are the ones who knock.
KD better be resting every B2B next year and get minutes management in games that he does play. While the rest of the starters should also be lowering their minutes to make sure everyone's healthy in the playoffs.
