The Alexandrov Ensemble / Red Army Choir is a Soviet Icon that is survived the fall of the Soviet Union and is still beloved in Russia. Yesterday 64 members died in plane crash in the Black Sea on a flight to entertain Russian troops in Syria. Not sure if being ironic but Russia has ruled out terrorism. Given that Russia's aviation industry doesn't have a great safety record I think that is a very likely cause.
