apparently, X-Rays were negative and hell be day to day sure looked much worse when it happened *big sigh of relief*
He needs to not rush back, and make sure he has full range of motion before he starts hitting. I have been one of his biggest critics, but he has been swinging a very nice stick this year.....very nice. DD
I wonder if the Burke experiment at SS from spring training will prove to have been useful or if they will just give Bruntlett more time.
Apparently Burke will just be used on an emergency basis. Bruntlett will get the majority of SS time. Garner wants bats available on the bench for games like last night... right now, Burke is are only valuable RH hitter off the bench, and I'm guessing his SS defense left much to be desired out of ST.
In the little I've seen him at 2nd this year, he's looked really awkward, just not smooth at all - legs are doing one thing, upper body is jerking around a bit. Probably has a ton to do with getting a majority of his practice reps in the OF last year, and splitting time b/t OF/2B/SS in spring training. I think SS would be a big stretch for him right now.
