Does anyone know of another station other then 610 AM? I live out almost in the Woodlands area and 610 is a in and out station. Is there another that picks up the games that would have better reception (especially with these guys with hi emotion for both teams its like who scored??). 97.5FM is taking chances on who they might be broadcasting but anyways any knowledge to be share?
I work third shift so when we have late games I usually have to leave by the end of the the third and up to sometimes 1 min left in the fourth. But regardless I want to keep up with the current and although i record the game on my PC and always watch regardless when I get home in the morning I'd like to know if we won while working so i can be happy working or sad working, heh heh. 1560 I never tuned into that station, does the game come on there?
No. Only 610 broadcasts the game. If you listen to the radio for Rockets talk, there's 610, 790, and 1560.
1560 the game man. seriously all the others suck hard in comparison. although if its rockets youre after 610 is the only one but without gene and jim is it really even worth it? of cours if you want you want to listen to sports radio that makes you want to kill yourself you could pop on over to 790 and listen to the monsters of the midday.
The Monsters are alright, they can be a tad annoying at times (especially John) but overall a pretty good show. My favorite sports talk show on the AM dial though would have to be Rich Lord/Matt Jackson 2-6pm on 610am.
Only 610 carries the Rockets games. For those that mentioned 1560, while I'd have done the same there's nothing playing overnight, except maybe a bunch of recap shows. Ron Barr will put you to sleep. 610 has Todd Wright which is awesome at night (mostly interviews, minor sports update) (Sporting News Radio) and then David Stein (terrible, little to no sports) 790, who knows or cares. 97.5 I think is ESPN Radio after 7pm. You can stream 610 (and soon, 1560) on Flycast (www.flycast.fm) If you're not near a computer, you can stream it on your wireless pocket phone, possibly. I'm pretty sure 610 kills the streaming broadcast during Rockets games though, so thinking about it, that doesn't help you any. Sorry, can't give you the last 2 minutes of your life back for reading that.
As far as signal strength, KGOW (1560) will be cranking it up to 15000 watts in July I believe. What the signal will look like after the new tower is built.
Todd Wright sucks. When I heard him say Rafer was an outstanding 3 pt shooter, I turned the radio off.
