610 is saying McNair will have a press conference later this afternoon. They are saying some speculation is Dan Reeves is being hired as a team consultant.
Who cares about Dan Reeves?? If I was Mcnair I'd just come in with a USC hat on. Pop in a video of Reggie Bush highlights from HS and college. Then tell the fans when to buy season tickets for the reggie bush experience.
The relationship is that Bob McNair and Dan Reeves went to college together at the Unversity of South Carolina.
Reeves has been to the Super Bowl 9 times as a player and coach. 4 times as a coach and 5 as a player. Sounds good too me.
DAN REEVES Y'see, what we're trying to do here, we're just trying to get a feel for how people spend their day. So, if you would, would you just walk us through a typical day for you? DOM CAPERS Yeah. DAN REEVES Great. DOM CAPERS Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late. I use the side door, that way Mr. McNair can't see me. Uh, and after that, I just sorta space out for about an hour.
McNair has also called another press conference for tomorrow afternoon where he will announce the price of beer going up 25 cents and discuss the upcoming Christmas Party...
1. Stop with the Bush is going to sell a gazillion tickets because the only thing that truly builds a fan foundation is winning. Unless the team wins consistently the Bush novelty will wear off. 2. I hope this does indeed signal the end of the Casserly era. I can't say that I would be overly thrilled with Reeves as the next coach but I guess it wouldn't suck either. Has he ever GMed before? 3. Lol at the office space 'shop job.

What the hell is a team consultant? My guess is that McNair is bringing him in to determine what kind of house cleaning and personnel moves that need to be made in the offseason. I like Dan Reeve's - the dude has a ton of experience, and as has been mentioned - is a proven winner.
The speculation may come from this: http://www.houstontexans.com/news/news_detail.php?PRKey=2253 Texans hire Reeves as consultant HoustonTexans.com HOUSTON -The Houston Texans today hired former NFL player and head coach Dan Reeves as a special consultant to the owner, it was announced today. “I’ve known Dan for a very long time, said Texans owner Bob McNair. “We would like to have him evaluate our team and give us his opinion as to how close we are to being a winning team. We have our thoughts as to what we need and we look forward to hearing Dan’s independent evaluation and comments. He knows what it takes to get to the Super Bowl and that is our goal. I think that he can be a valuable resource for us as we go through this process.” Reeves played running back with the Cowboys from 1965-72 and spent 1972-81 as an assistant coach on Tom Landry’s staff. Reeves also served as head coach with the Denver Broncos (1981-91), New York Giants (1993-96) and Atlanta Falcons (2000-2003). He holds the record for most Super Bowl appearances as a player or a coach with nine. The former University of South Carolina quarterback boasts a 201-172-2 coaching record, including an 11-9 mark in the playoffs.
