Ok this just a rumor I heard on 610 this morning but they said it was from a credible source and the Rockets had discussed this trade with other GMs involved. Houston Trades: Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry and Shane Battier Gets: Amare Stoudemire and Jason Richardson Phoenix Trades: Amare Stoudemire and Jason Richardson Gets: Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry and Rudy Fernandez Portland Trades: Rudy Fernandez Gets: Shane Battier First of all salaries work here because Portland takes 5 million in Battier's contract away from the Rockets. Now I like to have Richardson and Amare for T-Mac but giving up Battier along too and sending Fernandez to Phoenix just doesn't work for me. I would like to get the Fernandez deal done seperately with Portland. Overall plausible scenario but still I would reject based on my desire for Fernandez.
WHAT? That doesn't make complete sense. Trading Landry is the part that doesn't. We're pushing to be younger and retool, trading carl just doesn't fit into that. So yesterday when that guy started that thread about his dad hearing a trade, he wasn't on crack?

why is it when guys hear or see something about a player RUMORED to be going to the Rockets they drag it out longer than it should be. Amare isn't coming. Bosh isn't coming yet guys really get their hopes up. What's funny is that its a RADIO RUMOR. Hahaha.

That would save us about $3 million for next year. And odds are, Amare is going to pick up his option because he is going to have to take a significant pay cut of about $6 million if he opts out for a max deal next summer.
That actually makes sense for every team involved. Portland thinks they are close to contending and bringing a defensive stopper and vet like battier could push them over the top Phoenix gets younger and gets rid of JRich's contract Houston rebuilds almost overnight with Amare.
Landry: 25 TMAC: 30 Battier: 30 Amar'e: 26 JRich: 28 It's not like we're getting older overal and Amar'e is only one year older than Carl.
I have not seen anything on this. From what I heard, Phoenix likes JRich. All my suns friends out here say he and nash are untouchable. I could be wrong, but with his athletecism I thought pho town wanted to keep him. The only bloated contracts they wanted out were Amar'e and Shaq.
