That's pretty much it.....don't know that it is really big news as I am sure that every team tries to trade up in every draft but how eager are they to move up???? Atleast this should tell us that they seem to be willing to move up and take on another young (somwhere between highscool and college senior) guy. I really belived that this year we would just take a stab at a possible lucky pick at 44 and then look for some vets in free agency.....this seem to go against that logic (atleast the part about the draft) then again......the report just said the rockets were looking to move up and have been unsuccessful thus far.....that doesn't really tell us if they are really pursuing it or are just open to the idea if it comes along.
Yes it is, because I don't hear about anything but facts come from 610. Why do you think it is not reliable?
Just like Espn, they like to get people all excited so they can keep coming back for more. ESPN even makes you pay for it LOL!
It's likely just a teaser, where the anchor says "Rockets: trying to move up in the draft?"makes you listen to 5 minutes of commercials, and then informs you that the Rockets have a 2nd round pick and could theoretically move up.
Even if they do move up, I imagine it'll be moving up within the second round. Which is kinda cool but not heart-stopping.
This means that the Rockets have someone targeted for a 2nd round pick. Don't get too excited though. The Rockets coveted Dan Langhi that they traded Najera and a future 2nd rounder for his draft rights. The Rockets have made some good decisions on draft day, but also made some very bizarre picks (see Jason Collier).
I would like to see them get in the 20's somewhere. A team like Portland or even moving up to the beginning of the 2nd rd at about 31 or 32 for that player who might slide. If not, I would like to see them take the best player availible regardless of position.
Some rookies help tremendously in their first years. Examples Amare Stoudamire,Tony Parker, ect ect. I think its all on how ya use a draft pick. I dont get why some are against trading for picks.
I'm surprised we haven't heard a thing from any of our insiders. They usually hear something around this time.
i saw one dude had mentioned there was a 200 percent chance we'd make a move cos we were going to make 2.
More than that, it makes the listener tune in all day to see if there are changes. Even though we all agree that last year's lineup cannot be the same next year if they are serious about contending. That being said, I say less than 5% chance they make a move that takes anything from or adds to our starting lineup last season or next.
