610. there is only one local show on 790. i can get the stuff they play on 790 through other national media outlets. 610 has local programming far more often.
I rarely listen to sports radio...but when I have, I can normally depend on 610 to have a better local slant. I just wish they would trash Rome...I cant stand that guy, and more often than not when I'm tuning in for sports radio it is in the afternoon while I'm in route from one office to another.

I really enjoy 610, but cannot stand Rich Lord on PM. He is such a know it all. He was all for the Rockets getting Richard Jefferson-against Eddie Griffin. He is so negative sometimes when little info is known. He pulled for the Mavs. He gives out bad info-i.e. Juwan gets 9 mil per year; supported a trade for Mo Taylor to NO for P.J. Brown, then later said the trade for Moochie and Baker was better. Rich Lord Blows Though I did hear him say F*ck on the air once-hilarious I like 610
I like 610's local programing, but absalutly hate their national programing on those nights that i am driving after 10pm, it seems like they never talk about basketball, its either football or baseball.
the only 610 show left for me are john and lance, and mike and mike is making more frequent appearances on my dial, and matt and adam. but I'm even listening to dan patrick more. rome has become a parody of himself or at least the show has. for me the callers were always important, and now most of the callers just mock him too much. plus, the guy won't give the barry bonds stuff a break recently.
790, I suppose. Well, I listen to 790 more...but that's partly because the only time I'm in the car driving somewhere is in the early morning (5:20 am or so) and the afternoon after work. I listen to Charlie in the afternoon because he is better than anything anyone else has to offer and I listen to Mike and Mike in the morning because John and Lance aren't on yet. It sucks because there are some good shows on 610 that I enjoy, but I"m never in the car during them (Night Shift and John and Lance I love, but never hear).
I always go with 790 since they give more love to local sports (UH/Rice/Dynamo, etc, not just Rockets/Astros/Texans) on their non-national programs. 610 is just filler between 790 commercials for me.
What a fresh thread idea. 610 in the mornings, 790 in the afternoons, 610 again in the evenings. Rich Lord and Carl Dukes are the most horrible guys on sports radio in this town by far. The two of them should join together to form one big steaming pile of crap of a show.
790 driving home, Pallilo is head and shoulders above the garbage on 610 for the drive home. 610 in the evenings if I'm in the car, Wexler is great.
i hate rome. he's annoying and of course i cant stand the way he talks. he thinks he's tight. i listen to the dan patrick show on 790 when he's on but the best radio show on right now is The Herd with collin cowherd (ever since he said hakeem was the best center of all time) and the david stein show is definatly up there as well
Competition is good... but I really can't stand Rich/Vandemeer anymore. I honestly feel like I'm more informed/uptodate in the sports world than Rich "I still get my news from the local news sports report" Lord, and Mark "my voice is my passport" Vandemeer. You don't get that feeling with Charlie because the guy does his homework, is always up to date on the latest sports news, has actually WATCHED some of the games that people talk about, and tends to be well versed in ALL sports, ALL the time. Plus, the fact that Lord dissed Clutchfans is enough to make anybody question his "intellect". As far as national shows go... the Herd has grown on me (especially since he started his ESPN sunday sportscenter segments), and Dan Patrick/Keith Olbermann's 20 minutes around 1 is always worth a listen.
Mornings - various 11-3: Rome-ish and Dan patrick ish [thought I am rarely in the car then now] 3-7: 790 - charlie bar none 7 on . . back nad forth I'm getting tired of 6-Spin . . . I know they got the Rockets and the Texans but they always agree with everything. . they are yes men . . I guess since they on the payroll . .they cannot .. but it is annoying Rocket River
