I'm surprised no one mentioned this yet, but McGrady told Sports Radio 610 about a deal his teammates made with him. Basically, they said that if they took care of Game 5, he had to score 40 in Game 6. McGrady's response, "I can do that." I hope he's right.
Yeah someone has the ch.2 interviews up already. I have no problem with him scoring 40 points as long as we win.
well as long as there is ball movement like game 5 and the others dont just stand their then im happy with him scoring 40.
http://www.click2houston.com/video/16116835/index.html He says that he doesn't need to score 40, he just needs to play like he did in game 5 and we'll be alright. Mutumbo also guaranteed a win!
If you check out the click2houston interview, you'll find out that he said Shane, then quickly changed to one of the players told him...
And please no 40 on one of those horrendous 12/35 shooting nights that I've become so accustomed to seeing from him...
His teammates told him they'd take care of home court, and for him to drop 40 in Utah. Not the same thing as thread title states - he even went further and brushed it off, saying he doesn't need to score 40.
0 chance of McGrady scoring above 62 points. Almost 0 chance of him nearing 60 points in his career again.
did you guys see how he walked after game 5 interview?? 40 pts?? you should be happy that he will stand on court for the whole game.
Forgive me for not fitting all of that into the thread title. Besides, I already clarified that he wasn't talking specifically about game 6.
If you listen to the link he didnt say he was gonna get 40, he said that he is just going to continue to play he has been playing
