Not saying that number is illegitimate, but you are aware they've been caught lying about their crowd numbers recently, right?
Basso you have conveniently left out the fact that the Decemberists played a free show before Palin came out.
it's not their estimate, and in any case, you could say the same about obama's berlin speech. the 200k number was not any sort of official number.
Again, I'm not saying the number is wrong... but they have claimed numbers that were inflated and falsely attributed them to officials... including one in the above story to a fire marshall who then said he doesn't do outdoor estimates.
You missed this paragraph... I'm guessing this is a misprint... it would take a polka band to draw that many old Repubs.
