Why bother, he's going to spit the same BS he always spouts. GW bush has no credibility with 70 percent of the American people and almost everyone else in the world.

his comment about now owing an apology to iraqis is criminal. it is US responsibility to provide safety for the occupied and because bush did not listen to the commanders and put 300-400k troops on the ground hundreds of thousands of iraqis have died.

also saddam no matter how bad did not cause instability inside iraq for a decade. but we can ignore facts. we have before.

    As I stated before
    In what other country
would we accept a leader as legit
    if
he was the Son of the Former head of the Secret Police [ CIA]
    and
the province or stated he ended up winning by was run by his brother?

I doubt we would have accepted elections in Iraq
if Saddam's son won and his brother ran the province that made the deciding vote?

    I love a good conspiracy

When you put it that way, it sounds pretty damn bad, RR. What happened is bad enough.

Anybody hear Chuck Hegel on "Meet the Press" this morning trashing the new plan? Probably only spoke for about ten minutes, but he was thorough.

    Bush = joke
    Condi = joke
    War on Iraq = joke
America last 5+ years = joke

Sometimes I think money rules the world too much, especially when it comes to politics.

OTOH, if it wasn't for the fact that money ruled the world, and the American economy has been alive and kicking, man would we be pretty pathetic right about now.

How much money have we wasted in Iraq to date? How many people have died?

What's even more hilarious is that we're gonna go to war with Iran next and most Americans will sit back and go along with it.

Sean Hannity: "John Smith, you're next on the air."

John Smith: "You're a great american."

    Sean Hannity: "Yes I am."

who started telling him that? it's worse than jim rome calling his listeners clones. those are 2 of the worst radio personalities on the air.

but you're probably right, most people will go along with some sort of action against iran... just look at the poll that's been taken here.

If you’re in Congress and you know this war is going in the wrong direction, it is no longer enough to study your options and keep your own counsel.

Silence is betrayal. Speak out, and stop this escalation now.
You have the power to prohibit the president from spending any money to escalate the war – use it.

And to all of you here today – and the millions like us around the country who know this escalation is wrong – your job is to reject the easy way of apathy and choose instead the hard course of action.

    Silence is betrayal. Speak out.
Tell your elected leaders to block this misguided plan that is destined to cost more lives and further damage America’s ability to lead. And tell them also, that the reward of courage...is trust.

just curious, i'm not trying to argue anything here, but... has john edwards or anyone in the democratic party espoused an alternative plan? is it redeployment?

also, couldn't redeployment mean moving troops from somewhere else to iraq?

We're in for a loooooong two years folks. Unfortunately, it won't be long enough for some of our soldiers.

Yes, see the Murtha plan, the Biden plan, the Baker-Hamilton plan, the Levin-Reed plan...

But none of it matters because Bush doesn't consider other plans. (Read the quotes from his 60 Minutes interview.) Any sane person could tell you that any other plan is preferable to sending more troops to Iraq and starting a war with Iran and Syria, but it doesn't matter.

Yes, redeployment could mean sending troops to Iraq, which is apparently what is happening with a bunch of them in Afghanistan... talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul. However, all plans except for the administration's call for a reduction in troops in Iraq.

    This sucks.

call my searching ability inept, this is all i could find that was current (meaning late '06 to the present)

murtha - plan to immediately bring home the 160,000 U.S. forces in Iraq. 12/1/06

biden - everything was in '05

baker/hamilton - the iraq study group suggested: Security, political reconciliation, economic recovery and regional diplomacy... i guess a troop increase addresses the security aspect. this does leave out the other 3 suggestions.

levin/reed - “We need to begin a phased redeployment of forces from Iraq in four to six months,” Mr. Levin said in an appearance on the ABC News program “This Week.” In a telephone interview later, Mr. Levin added, “The point of this is to signal to the Iraqis that the open-ended commitment is over and that they are going to have to solve their own problems.” 11/13/06

Just wait to see W's "redeployment" plan to Iran (aka Plan B) after The Surge fails to meet its objective.
